How does NJ get away with that new budget proposed by Covid Killer Murphy. A budget of 44 billion up 8 billion in 3 years is insane. Plus he is using money borrowed under emergency covid conditions that has not been used. Not allowed to borrow to balance the budget this should be ruled illegal.

I'm sure the Village People are happy because the budget gets closer to free college for their kids.

This isn't the place for complaints, so I get it. I'm a moderate and I don't mind funding quality education to a point.

That said, I went to a private college and it took me eight years to pay off my loans. Done without complaint.

Though I don't give a dime in donations to my college because it is a wealthy school with a huge endowment. I donate my time and money to helping out the poor and disabled and also to animal shelters.

“Beginning this fall, Cherry Hill public school students will be required to take a course on African American history in order to graduate.”

When will students in NJ be required to take mandatory courses on:

Native American History

Chinese American History

Korean American History

Mexican American History

Catholic American History

And the list goes on

In order to graduate?

Isn’t American history the history of all Americans?

No tax hike this year because they have the borrowed money next year he will not have that. Do you think they will cut the spending back, no way all taxes will need to go up big to cover 6 billion less dollars. Voters in NJ are pretty stupid and will not realize it until next year. Smart move by Murphy since it will deflect from the worst covid death rate in the country.

And, he’s up for re-election this year. No tax hike despite all the costs will give voters the impression he did a good job of controlling expenditures during the pandemic.

Setting aside the borrowing, I was surprised to read that there was a surplus. Then again, the current stock market has me flummoxed and I keep having visions of something giving big time. I thought the Dow would be at 15,000 last summer, which is why I don't give advice.:D

NJ is a hub for pharma companies. I cannot imagine the overtime billed to the Warp Speed project last year.

The surplus is smoke and mirrors. The evil Big Pharma companies help NJ with huge tax contributions. I worked 25 years for one before retiring.

Are you are telling us that rather than working for a good company, you willingly continued to work for an evil company for 25 years?

Why would you continue to work for an evil company?

Which company and what was so evil?

Was your job evil or just the company?

Are you a member of thr USW?

If you really worked for PhARMA in NJ, you know that most of those companies have left and those remaining have down sized massivly, they will not contribute much in the way of tax relief, and.....most of them are incorporated in states other than NJ.

For any of you guys considering a move to North Carolina, there is a nice tax break you get here that I recently learned of.

If you move, let's say mid year, whatever income tax you paid in another state, North Carolina will give you a 100 percent credit on what you paid to the other state.

I am receiving a credit off what I owed to New Jersey, and it is 100 percent deducted from my tax obligation to North Carolina.

Who would have ever thought ...

New Jersey has the most corrupt ballot design in the entire country
While voter suppression is the name of the game in the South, voter deception is the game of choice north of the Mason-Dixon line.

God, I love how weird and unique this country is.

It’s really not all that weird and unique. In the similar vein, my local earned income taxing authority would credit me for any Philly wage tax paid, against any local EIT liability.
