I'm old and widowed, so I only have to hide these activities from surviving family and casual friends. I got two life-long buddies who know about it, and the one who's married takes me out to the VFW hall once a month so he can live vicariously through my stories. The other one has the instructions on what to delete from my computer before I die and my relatives find them.

There's a periodic monger thread that pops up on https://4chan.org/gif/ of all places, which consists mostly of experienced mongers giving advice to virgin incels who want to pop their cherry at an AMP or with an escort. One of the running themes is convincing them not to fall in love with their provider and keep it transactional.
Lol no, the "now you're my girlfriend and I need to save you from your life of sin" love. Most of them get it, but some mistake affection for commitment. It never goes well.

This is a discussion that is impossible to agree on. I'm glad we can all make up our own rules to follow and don't have to do or agree with anyone else. If I had listen to a couple long time mongers about how to play the game in the beginning, I would never have had all the great fun I got to experience. My time in the spa/provider world has give me nothing but pleasure and I value all of the friendships I have made and still have. Of course some are long gone for various reasons but we never have to lose our memories.
You're spot on, there's many different levels that people can take this hobby. I genuinely care about my providers and advocate for their profession politically. I've lived in places where it's totally legal and it bugs me that we have to live these shadow lives to practice it here. Your fondness for your providers always comes out in your reviews and I appreciate it.
