The time I've been on this site, TONY88 is the nicest and kindest person. He showed love and respect, at the highest level, for everyone. He would be the type of person I would like to meet and have a good conversation with. His post of Something Positive is the best post on this site. People like TONY88 makes me feel good inside because he knows how to treat a person with love and respect. He's like family, a brother and a friend. My condolences to his loved ones. May TONY88 be in peace and blessed in the afterlife.

This thread raises an interesting point. In the case of Tony88, @bxboy knew him in person. That is probably the exception as most of us are anonymous and want to stay that way (I know I do). So, generally, when members expire, we will just go silent. In a way, that seems a little sad and cold. But probably for the best though, as our family members would be horrified if they were able to identify us and read about our exploits on these boards.

My donation will be anonymous.

As for Tony and Bxboy, a friendship was formed and Tony's personality shined like a light. If BX told me they hung out together going to AMPS and playing poker, I would have given my condolences and been done with it. The fact that Tony exhibited a kindness toward unfortunate citizens beyond most and successfully recruited a friend to support the cause is something that I personally want to support, promote and reward.

Hey everyone. First thanks so much to all of you. I thought I was done crying yesterday and then I started reading all of your touching comments. So I had a lot more crying to do last night and this morning. But that was a good thing.

Tony used to like to feed the geese by the water near he lived. And then he'd text me photos of them! At first I was like okaaaay... but after a while if I didn't get a photo from him I'd text "Where's my geese photo???". LOL So last night I bought a loaf of bread, went to his spot and fed them. I must have looked like a fucking nut telling the geese that Tony said hello and the bread was from him. There were so many unique and endearing qualities to Tony. He was so fascinated and in love with using emojis. He was like a kid with using them.LOL:LOL:(y):giggle: He called everyone Mr._____ Even in person when we were volunteering he'd say "Good morning, Mr. Steve!" or "Good morning Miss Charlette!". Sometimes a volunteer would shoot me a look like what's up with this guy but after a while it became a kind of in joke and would bring a smile to everyone's faces. After volunteering he'd sometimes bring me to this pizza place near the Whitestone Cineplex and we'd have a couple of slices. Tony would put one slice on top of the other and then fold them and eat it like that! LOL And of course he'd drink it down with a diet soda! I'd be looking at him like WTF...

I didn't have a father growing up. I did have an uncle who was pretty cool. But meeting and hanging with Tony has made me a better man. And I'll always be grateful and never forget him.

I was thinking about Tony this morning and it made me realize how far I had fallen. How much my attitude had deteriorated compared to his. It made me realize that you can still enjoy life in spite of the BS in this world. It also made me ask myself again why the good guys go so soon. Thanks Tony.

Thank you bxboy for creating a post in honor of Tony88. Like others, I was overcome with sadness and joy while reading your excerpts about your interactions and stories of Tony. I am both solemn and grateful right now. Tony had a heart of gold that couldn't be bought and a sense of goodness that couldn't be measured. Rest in peace Tony.

Thanks again, everyone. I think Tony would be overwhelmed by all of your kind words. He didn't even think that he was an important part of this community! But that never stopped him from being as positive, kind and courteous as he could be. I forgot to mention his great story about hooking up with Angie Dickinson years ago. I had no idea who this woman was but after googling her I see that back in the day she was pretty hot!

He wasnt real opinionated. However where he exceled was how cordial and open minded he was to listen to others points of view.

That is and always will be a nice trait. Salute again @TONY88.

From my experience with him, and being new, he deserves it.
He wanted to introduce me to a nice girl two weeks ago, but forgot I lived in PA. I turned him down because I wasn't in the mood and it was a long drive. He was able to see what type of person I was just by what I typed. Most can't see that after knowing me for sometime, or just aren't willing to try. He had a gift.
