Hey everyone. First thanks so much to all of you. I thought I was done crying yesterday and then I started reading all of your touching comments. So I had a lot more crying to do last night and this morning. But that was a good thing.

Tony used to like to feed the geese by the water near he lived. And then he'd text me photos of them! At first I was like okaaaay... but after a while if I didn't get a photo from him I'd text "Where's my geese photo???". LOL So last night I bought a loaf of bread, went to his spot and fed them. I must have looked like a fucking nut telling the geese that Tony said hello and the bread was from him. There were so many unique and endearing qualities to Tony. He was so fascinated and in love with using emojis. He was like a kid with using them.LOL:LOL:(y):giggle: He called everyone Mr._____ Even in person when we were volunteering he'd say "Good morning, Mr. Steve!" or "Good morning Miss Charlette!". Sometimes a volunteer would shoot me a look like what's up with this guy but after a while it became a kind of in joke and would bring a smile to everyone's faces. After volunteering he'd sometimes bring me to this pizza place near the Whitestone Cineplex and we'd have a couple of slices. Tony would put one slice on top of the other and then fold them and eat it like that! LOL And of course he'd drink it down with a diet soda! I'd be looking at him like WTF...

I didn't have a father growing up. I did have an uncle who was pretty cool. But meeting and hanging with Tony has made me a better man. And I'll always be grateful and never forget him.

That pizza place is called Amore Pizza and IMO it's the best classic NY slice in all of NYC. I am very particular about my pizza. He clearly had great taste in food. RIP.

Thanks, bro. You're absolutely right! I was there just yesterday as a matter of fact. But I'll never be able to eat two slices at a time though like he did! LOLOLOL!

Tony took me to quite a few places to eat. There's a sandwich and hero store in Astoria that was great. Not far from the park over there. Highly recommended!

Hey everyone. I just got back from Tony's funeral. Beautiful day and beautiful service. Part of me wanted to laugh and part of me wanted to cry when his daughter was introducing me to Tony's friends and family saying that he knew me from the church where we both volunteered at! (Tony would probably add :ROFLMAO::cry: here...). The big man needed ten pallbearers and damn if those guys didn't get a workout in today. lol

Sorry if I'm posting too much. I wasn't sure about writing again and I'll try to refrain from writing more. So apologies if sharing this is annoying or redundant. I just know that a few of you guys who have written pm's to me wanted an update. Thanks again for all of your comments and kind words.
Thanks for sharing. Much respect to you and Tony . If there’s a heaven there has to be a pretty good amp up there

@bxboy - I'm so sorry for your loss.

As you know I've Inboxed with Tony for a few months prior to his passing. I was offline for a while since most places shut down while the virus was peaking in NY. When the reopening started, I got busy with some business activities and recently started logging back into this site. I didn't check the the General section until today and saw the thread about Tony.

It definitely made me sad, but I'm trying to think about the good times. Tony and I shared a favorite that was kinda crazy, but a ton of fun. He was such a great guy that when I knew he was really into her, I stopped seeing her. He truly had a kind spirit that makes you want to do better in many areas of life. I know anonymity is central to this board, but I'm glad you are there to comfort his loved ones and close friends in person.

May he rest in peace.

Thanks @Bit . I appreciate it, bro. And wow, that was really nice of you to do that. Not many guys would! Tony used to use words like "honorable" and "integrity" quite a bit. I mean, I knew those words but when Tony said them about a particular person it seemed to really mean something. I guess that I didn't realize it at the time but Tony could also be described with those words. As well as kind-hearted and thoughtful.

Funny how I thought I was just hanging with a friend but it turned out that he was a role model for me. I've made an effort to be kinder and not get into arguments and negative situations because of him. I've also cut out smoking weed and I'm just drinking beer since his passing. Not gonna lie - I still talk to the dude sometimes. I guess I'm either in denial at times or I'm going crazy. Some friendships you just don't want to let go of, I guess...

Don't think you are crazy at all. I believe there is life after death and that we can remain in contact with our dear friends and family.

Two months have passed since my friend Tony left us. I could say a million things but I'll keep it simple and just say that I'm always going to be grateful to have met the big guy.

I think of him often. Especially when I do the "random act of kindness" that he taught me. Maybe one day I can pass that down to someone else. I've always gotten some really nice/cool reactions from it.

Last night I was at a bar/ restaurant on Roosevelt Ave with my cousin. When we were done we went to the Lemon Ice King of Corona. A waitress overhead me mention it and said she loved their ices so I picked up Cotton Candy Italian ice for her, but I didn't tell her that I would be. She was so happy and surprised when I came back and gave it to her. I got a coronavirus hug out of it. :giggle:

Six months ago on June 12th Big Tony left us. I still miss my friend who introduced me to doing volunteer work, eating two slices of pizza at once, and trying to do one random act of kindness every single day.

Sometimes it feels like years ago and sometimes it feels like just yesterday that I got the news of his passing.

Miss you, big guy. Hope you're up there enjoying yourself, buddy!

Nice tribute. I only knew him here, but his genuine good nature came through. In everything we're dealing with these days, it is good to be reminded of a good guy.
