@krideynyc thanks for all the information.

the medical system being overwhelmed is the true threat of this virus. It just spreads entirely to fast for any healthcare system to keep up with it.

IMO

flatten the curve is our only acceptable solution

As more and more people get exposed to the virus, most of those people will survive and have built up antibodies.
the healthcare system will find more effective ways of caring for the ill.
the weather will dampen the spread of this.
the correct hygiene and social distancing will help prevent the spread of this and many other diseases in the future.

You will probably catch this very contagious virus. We just don't want everyone catching it at the same time.

My opinion right now is that this country will survive and thrive once we have accepted this virus as we have so many others in the past. We will be watching the countries going into their winter months and the healthcare industry will continue to work on vaccines and treatments.

We have had pandemics before and we will have them again. technology for tracking, testing and controlling illness will get better with time.

Any bill congress passes has pork in it. it always has and it always will. People need to get over complaining about congress doing what congress always does!!!
Sorry chuck but all of the complaining put the heat on the dems so they had to back down. What the fook does wind subsidies have to do with getting economic help to those that badly need it? The dems had to back off that BS when public outrage began to set in.

the complaining of the delay, if that shit was in the bill from the beginning, it would have passed with flying colors. Obamacare was passed by lacing the bill with a ton of pork to buy congress and senate votes.

Nancy holding up the bill for pork left-wing wish list nonsense, how typical. I can't put into words how loathsome she is.
If she did that, it is disgusting.

Just like some of the "Fredom Caucus" nuts doing the same thing in the Senate. That too was disgusting.

Pelosi and McConnell would both do the country a great service by playing less politics that way. But to see it in one but not the other is intentional blindness. Count up the number of bills--including those with bipartisan support--that McConnell has stalled in the past 18 months. If they are poor Bill's (and I am sure there are some of those) vote and kill them--but let the Senate vote on them. McConnell is the closest thing the country has to a one-vote dictator, but that seems perfectly OK with the RWWs.

Depends why he's holding up the bills. I would have to hear his reasoning. With Nancy I know the reason--it's always with the intention to load it up with pork.

Lets be clear. Saving the cruise industry that doesn't even pay taxes here is absurd and is definitely extra pork loins, pulled pork, baby back ribs and all that :)

From talking to some staffers it was business as usual--BOTH side looking to slip in some pork and favorite interests. Open your eyes, it isn't just the Dems (or just the Reps). Quit being one-eyed.
From what you gathered from the staffers can u provide some examples of that pork from the Rs?

Read the Bill, especially the back end where they say who gets what. My two takeaways - I'm sure there is enough waste on both sides and there are too many govt agencies.

Everything I read was the cruise industry is getting little to nothing.
