Sat next to Eartha Kitt on a flight to Vegas and I'm talking a good 20 yrs ago. Had my pic taken with Don Mattingly, Mike Schmidt. Met Willy Mays at the airport waiting for his baggage. My mother and I talked to him for 5 minutes. She spotted him. Nathan Lane in NYC at Carmine's, said hello to us (call that a brush with greatness!)

Glad to see this thread picking up some steam again. Besides Bret Michaels and Terry Labonte i guess my other one would be Ken Schrader, another NASCAR driver who was the last person to see Dale Earnhardt alive after his crash at the 2001 Daytona 500. (RIP Dale).

Matt Dillon.

Chatted with him briefly at a Knicks or Rangers game, can't remember which. At least 30 years ago.
Funny.
He is originally from a town near where I am from.
I saw him at the Blarney Stone on Trinity Pl. back in the late 80s when I was working 2nd shift in that area.
He was just having a beer with his friends. Seemed like a regular guy.

My impression at that game was he there by myself. He felt like taking in a game that night and got a decent seat from a scalper. That's all it was.

I mentioned Arnie before and want to add to that list.
Charles Barkley at the Atlanta airport, sat and talked for about 20 minutes. Wade Boggs in Sarasota. He was playing in a celebrity softball game and walking back to the hotel. It started raining and I gave him a ride. Joe Namath at his restaurant in Tuscaloosa. Stood out in the parking lot talking about both living in Western PA. Didn't really "meet", but Marty Lyons in St. Pete and Chpper Jones in Roswell, GA. Both standing next them in a bathroom, not exactly the place to chat someone up. Played golf with Mike Schmidt and Larry Gatlin at a celebrity Pro-Am event.

My office is on 57th and Park NYC in 1981. Most beautiful woman I ever saw in NYC was clearly Ali Macgraw, she walked like she owned the City; Jaclyn Smith of the original Charlie's Angels pushing a baby carriage; Vic Damone and Diahan Carroll stopped at the island crossing Park, he grabs her and gives her one helluva passionate kiss; Prince Ranier, the widower husband of Grace Kelly and royalty of Monaco, in disguise crossing 57th, Street, short guy, dressed almost in rags, except for the four huge bodyguards--my best personal NYC celebrity recognize.

Clearly Prince Ranier. He was dressed in disguise as a homeless man. THen I saw the four huge bodyguards, and in an instant asked myself why bodyguards for a homeless man, and looked again.... and besides, who else would even know who the man was even if he was wearing a Crown? I mean, Prince Ranier, cmon. But at the time (now deceased) he was a very important guy. Also, BTW, Henry Kissinger near the Crown Building one evening. Very short guy also with bodyguards
