What scenario would you use a gun and how often have you found yourself in such situation?

I’ve lived & worked in tough inner city neighborhoods since the early 80’s (when crime was much worse) and have never been in a situation where I would have actually pulled out a gun if I’d been carrying.

Have I been in fights? Yes. Have I been mugged for the contents of my wallet? Yes. In both scenarios I’m glad I didn’t have a gun because it would’ve caused more damage and hassle to me than exchanging punches or replacing $50.

It seems highly irrational to be that scared of walking the streets without a gun.

Then don't walk around the city at night. Howard Eskin on sports radio would say if your scared, get a dog. lol. Go to the spas during the daytime, really nothing yo fear then.

What are you so afraid of that you can't leave your house without a gun? If you do conceal carry, how much training have you had, so you're not more dangerous to yourself and innocent bystanders than all the perceived bad guys?
How do you live so ignorant of reality? How do you not know whats happening in major cities? Why do you think people should allow themselves to be victims of violent criminals? Why do you support violent criminals?

Sean are you dealing drugs at an AMP or near an AMP? (Hey we're all random anonymous guys here). I think you'll find most of the gun related crime centers around drug dealing and defending drug turfs in most major cities. I wouldn't go anywhere near the badlands in North Philly, especially at night.

If you're carrying a loaded gun, you'll be much more likely to actually use it if you find yourself in a situation. It will be your 1st option. I feel too many people have this Dirty Harry fantasy in their minds, that they will calmly and coolly whip out their gun, very accurately point it at the bad guy and use the greatest of rational thought and make the most prudent decision of their life as to pull the trigger or not while evaluating all possible outcomes in a fraction of a second with maximum adrenaline causing the blood in their temples to beat like a bass drum. Good luck with that.

While some people who have been in active war situations could respond properly to the situation, I feel most civilians with minimal gun training will freak out. Heck most highly trained military green horns the 1st time in battle can freak out and freeze or start shooting anything that moves.

I posted earlier in this thread, about the impact on your life if you choose to pack heat and use it, even if you're 100% "in the right" to defend yourself over an attempted robbery walking into an AMP. There is a high likely hood that the shooting will be reported. There is a high likely hood that you were going to an AMP will be reported. If you get scared and try to leave the scene, that might cause all kind of other problems. If you shoot and kill someone you'll have many many questions that will require hard evidence clear you in the shooting. The whole gun incidence could haunt you for the rest of your life, even if you exercised perfect legal discretion. Civil suits, divorce and lawyers can bankrupt you.

Remember, you were about to spend 2 Bens at the AMP, and you were going to be without that money in about 1 hour anyways. You had already made that decision. Yes, it sucks to get robbed without getting sucked and F-ed, no doubt. But the next day, you entire life will be the same as it was and nothing major will have changed. No one needs to know exactly what happened. You would still be without the 2 Bens no matter what happens. In 5 years the whole thing will be a distant memory. Those 2 Bens were going to be spent one way or the other. It wasn't like they were an investment that magically could of been $200 of Bitcoins in July of 2009.

Or their could be a memory of being on the 11 O'Clock news, answering your friend's, employer's and family's questions. Worse of all, your children's peers making fun of them over their daddy's choices. If you're really that afraid of being a victim of a violent crime in CC Philly, my sincere recommendation would be stay out of Philly or any other large city or find another hobby.

I have a feeling none of this will discourage you from carrying your gun. I hope you never are forced to have to use it.

The problem I see with carrying a gun is that if you get in trouble and need to use it, you better access the the situation quickly and accurately. When you pull it out you better shoot your target immediately, any hesitation could cost you your life. Afterwards you survive the encounter you will have time to determine if the use of your gun was necessary, but by then another person may be laying dead. Then all the shit hits the fan. Good luck with all of that.

If that other person laying dead was a criminal trying to harm me, then so be it. I wont loose any sleep over ending some scumbags existence. You think those people go home at night and care about what they have done to others? But hey the day you are the victim, let us know how much you care about the other guys life.

What is your obsession with thinking that you need to be involved with drugs to be a victim of crime?

If She pulls out a gun in the situation on this video she most likely ends up shot , wounded & possibly dead.

It’s horrible what happened to her but she survived and is better off than had she had a gun and attempted to use it in that situation.

Who would’ve suspected that a thread that was started about carrying in an AMP would’ve turned into a discussion about carrying guns in general? I didn’t foresee this happening lol
