I’m fairly young and I took a long break from mongering. Thinking about going back but I wondered if it was appropriate to carry into an AMP or if it was better leaving it in the car.

#1 rule is never leave your firearm in your unattended car.

If you carry it into the AMP, where are you going to store it when you're lead to the shower wrapped in just a towel? Are you good with your pants just hanging on the wall?
Thats the dilemma I was having. I carry everyday and I have it holstered on me at all times, but for going to an AMP, I’m not sure how to approach it. I’d hate to leave the house without it. The only thing is if I just go there and straight back home then I can just leave it in the house, but I would rarely drive down all the way to center city just for a session and then back. I know it doesn’t hurt to just leave it at home for a day, but I wanted to see if anyone else had their own thoughts or opinions.

what exactly is your concerns?

Scenario #1 You get robbed and you're out 200+ but most likely you just move along with you life and no one ever knows anything. The robber is most likely not interested in harming or killing anyone. Most likely they just want hit the establishment for it's cash more than trying to rob an individual customer. A year from now your life will be the same.

Scenario #2 - You play Rambo and shoot the guy thus keeping your 200. There is a high likely hood that eventually the police will get involved. A high likely hood that this will hit the news. Even though you're within your rights if they guy dies not it could be a high profile court case. Remember Cameras are everywhere anymore. Even if you park around the corner cameras will show you walking down the street from the spa. There will be video of you driving away. There will be video of a guy coming out of the spa will a gun shot wound.

Obviously, these aren't the only scenarios, and there are countless possibilities. To me, carrying a gun and being willing to use it opens the door to many more negative possibilities that out weigh the potential positive outcomes. Especially having to explain what you were doing in an AMP to your employer and family. All of a sudden losing that 200 you were already willing to be without, after an hour of fun, just doesn't seem like it would be worth it to me.

I have thought about the potential of getting mugged before. Whenever I am in the city, I keep most of my cash, in that small pocket for a watch in my Levi Jeans. I also keep about $30-$40 in cash in the regular pocket. If I get robbed, I am pull out my pockets and showing the robber the cash. I am telling him unless he accepts Credit cards that is all the money I have. I would throw it on the ground and walk away backwards. Most of them are going to grab the money and run for it. Start yelling, the hate it when you raise your voice to a yell because you're drawing attention to them.

Never being a gun into an amp. The whole point of concealed carry is to have quick access to your gun to defend yourself. You wont have quick access if the gun is laying in your pants hanging on the wall or chair while you are butt naked face down on the table. The girls will also see it and think you are off duty LE. Leave your gun at home when you are going to the spa not in your car. In case you were not already aware Philly is a corrupt communist cesspool….they are not fans of gun ownership and self defense, so be smart in how you go about carrying cause you can be sure the da or jury will be on the side of the criminal…if you catch my drift.

I will never understand why people feel the need to carry a firearm let alone everyday. I grew up in Brooklyn in the 70’s /80’s and never had a gun. I still don’t carry a gun. Bunch of fuckin cowboys always afraid who can’t handle themselves. I’ve been on shootings ranges and hunting. No problem with that. But all these random shootings at schools and churches almost daily. More concealed weapons isn’t the answer. And to answer your question I can’t think of a single Asian spa that would think that’s ok. If anything they might think you’re a threat. And if some of these Russian places knew you had a gun they probably would beat you senseless. Leave it at home if you know you’re going to a spa. You’ll survive for a few hours without it.

What about a lockbox for your car? They have those. Portable too. Not very expensive, around $100 on Amazon for a decent one.

It's a much better option than just throwing it in the glovebox, most of which can be opened easily.

It depends where you live. There is a lot of crime, and people these days will kill you for no reason, which was far more rare in the 70/80s.

As far as "handling themselves" if someone else has a gun and you don't, you are going to have a hard time handling yourself.

I personally have CCP but I view guns as an absolute last resort. I don't carry daily, but when I do, it's a final option I will only go for if I have no other choice. I'm not going to pull it out if someone punches me and runs off. But if I think I'm about to be killed you better believe having that last resort option is way better than not having it.

Most gun issues are not with people who have a valid license to carry. Most gun issues are those without licenses who are criminals who get ghost guns, straw purchases, or stolen weapons and use them to harm others.

It's fine being anti gun and not carrying one, but if others choose to exercise their rights they are allowed to. That's what freedom is all about!

If you have a permit to carry a concealed weapon you would be crazy to use it unless absolutely necessary. I don't know how things work, but can a gun be traced back to the licensed owner using ballistics forensics? Maybe too many cop shows, lol.

AMP and courthouse and airport are the only places I go that I don't carry, for almost thirty years. Others have already outlined reasoning, pants hanging on wall while in TS getting water treatment, first time at new AMP and now she sees the pistol and thinks you're LE or a killer, and so on. There are so so so many AMPs around, can totally plan a trip in a way that the likelihood of danger is minimized. Call it a day off from worrying about the universe.
