Damn u gotta be in like Saddle brook or some shit.
You probably mean Upper Saddle River.
SaddleBrook is a dump.
Well 2/3 of saddlbrook is.
I’m not in Saddle brook.
Where I live is mostly all residential. No real business to help the tax base.
The residents foot 99% of the tax.
Sucks!!!!!

The Village People approved the budget? What the "F... do they know? The band probably doesn't even LIVE in that town ........
I try not to be too hard on my former neighbors, but people have lost their jobs, their businesses, have been furloughed, and have a rocky road ahead with paying their bills. God forbid to ask the school district to make a sacrifice, too.

1000 pct agree. Do you in my school district if you vote no for the bill to pass it usually costs more than to vote yes and they get less service??

What kind of horseshit is that?

The NJ public sector has killed the taxpayer. They are the only ones that never get touched. The Covid crisis would be the perfect time to redo union contracts but will never happen, instead NJ is borrowing 9 billion more. We are already the 2nd worst state financially there is no way off the hook now.

I have actually not been that averse to helping the district out. I voted for some budgets if I thought it would help. I tried to take the reasonable road with them. But they don't give a shit about the real world people face and always fall back on the line "it's for the kids."

My neighbors always said yes to every request, no matter how costly and stupid. Which is why they are my former neighbors.

You can find many sources after Illinois we are in the worst financial shape. Go look at our credit rating we are over 100 billion in debt with unfunded liabilities. Public employees are the big problem and I am one of them. By the way my property taxes are 26,000 per year and rising.

My belief is the primary historical culprit for New Jersey is the number of school districts. There are over 500 separate districts with huge administrative overhead. The second culprit is 500 separate police forces. The waste from these numbers is mindboggling.

No other state does such districting to the extent NJ does. The original home rule idea was to keep "others" in the cities. Of course that pretense cost a lot of money.

You could have County wide school districts in New Jersey.

But that would mean the kids in Newark would be in the same district as the kids from Essex Fells.

I'm sure the racially tolerant citizens of New Jersey would be fine with that.:D

You nailed it to many towns with schools and municipal services. There should be nothing smaller than a Group 4 district in schools. The police should be county only no town police. People would be shocked if they knew how much some of the workers earn. Looking forward to moving out of here soon.
