Even Elon Musk at Tesla has said the EV is not for everybody because of the cost of these vehicles. They are essentially playtoys and status symbols for the rich...and I am no liberal saying this. EV's have a poor range and long charging time as compared to 5 minutes to gas up a gas vehicle and the long range of a gas vehicle. EV's also pollute more than gas vehicles...the heavy weight of EV's, because of the heavy batteries they carry, causes extreme tire wear. As an EV goes down the road the tires are emitting tiny particulates that pollute the air more than a tailpipe of a gasoline powered vehicle. And also, there is pollution caused by the production of electricity from fossils fuels to charge these EV's that is not even mentioned. The Green New Deal leftists won't tell you this, they're all in on EV's for political reasons. I will wait for hydrogen powered vehicles, where the only byproduct will be h2o...water!! Until then, I'll be pressing my gas pedal to the FLOOR!! haha
Be nice if you posted citations for some of the fictional stuff you posted here, but it’s kind of obvious you want to make this discussion political, which is banned here and I’m not going to play along.

I’ll ignore the rest of the fairy tale, and just point out there’s nothing special about EV tires, no magic pixie dust that pollutes the environment. They do wear faster. They told me to expect 30k miles. I’m going to get around 40k. I expect I will get around 50k on my other car. But tire pollution has been around forever and isn’t a new issue.

I’m still waiting on a definitive study of environmental aspects of EVs versus gas that takes into account everything. I do think personally it’s just shifting issues around, not the ideal solution for every problem. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if a good study concluded that the best car for the environment is a small PZEV car that’s engineered to last 10 years.

Also fair to mention, the “studies” have been presented as bringing us to the end of the world if we didn’t get off fossil fuels over a decade ago….and here we are, with nearly nothing changed. It’s actually why they needed to change the name from “global warming” to “climate change”, because every time we had a decade low winter it really hurt the narrative and urgency.

Now, I’d get on board with investing resources in to advancing the technology. But investing in Forcing the existing technology in to the market just doesn’t seem like it’s going to be the winning plan.

At the end of the day; People want results and not excuses. If the Ny Yankees are losing bad; the coach can say whatever little story pops into his head; but people want wins not stories; and he will get the ax whether it’s his fault or not. Same goes for the leadership of our country. The buck will stop there whether they want it to or not.
If the Yankees can get Wilson Contreras from the Cubs then no team is beating them.

I'd rather they just stick with what they have.
Why mess with what works?
This team is very similar to the 98 team, where the role players were major contributors.
98 team had Shane Spencer, Chad Curtis, Strawberry, Sojo, etc...
This team has very similar productive backups.
And of course, the pitching.
Fun to watch!

I’m on the same page here. My Sox are out of it already, although it’s kinda funny that in fourth place at one point last week they were in the last wild card slot. The best thing the Yanks could do right now would be to fuck around with team chemistry and make trades they don’t really need.

I pick the Blue Jays, Rays and Red Sox to be the three wild card teams. All three are still a threat. Boston’s offense is still one of the best in baseball and there’s still plenty of baseball to play. Anything can happen.

Granted, but the Yankees have the best offense. This years wild card format is a lot better. so the Red Sox might get in the playoffs and might do damage, but they are 12.5 games back and too erratic to think they can make that kinda lead back up.

Be careful what you wish for. A “big crash” would hit everyone. Even if you have no money in the market; a collapsed economy will hit hard.
Something’s gotta give. I’ve been leaking oil all year, inflation cooked my goose, and two bedroom shitholes are selling for $375,000.
