You can't be too cautious when going in to raid aliens with nukes and UFO tech. I am probably wrong--maybe it takes a few years to plan it correctly.

I think you answered you own argument. If these posts are only hearsay and not evidence, they can't be responsible for busts by themselves. Now, if you just expand that one step to "leads", that would be a different story.

Leads, sometimes. But more for "investigative journalists".

For LE, unless they arereally stupid (and usually they are not), it's the irate citizenry factor.

I'd really like to know if anyone in LE has ever publicly credited sites like SH, RM or this with intel for busts (preferably with a like to the story). Or even if someone has a friend in LE who referenced these sites. I realize it would be smart for them not to divulge their intel sources, but I wager the number of spas busted on the basis of site posts alone is zero (or close to zero).

I've always contended that the cops would know exactly where the erotic spas are even without these sites. Just like, during Prohibition, they knew where the speakeasys were. Some have pointed out that civvies might read these posts and complain. Maybe. But I think they are far more likely to jack off over a post than complain to the cops (by a ratio of 999:1).

I'm not saying we should start posting explicit reviews. That would be very unwise. But I also don't overestimate the role of these sites. It's all hearsay, not evidence.

Please do not get me going on that rant.

I know a good friend who was trafficked. They seriously damaged her life, directly led to her daughter being murdered, actually used her and her daughter's photos and info in national anti-trafficking speeches and ad campaigns, AND HAVE NOT DONE A DAMN THING FOR HER TO RECOVER HER LIFE. Not talking money, but things like grief counseling, PTSD help (yes, finding your daughter dead and having the cops show up and treat you as the criminal even after it is clear you are not IS traumatic), etc.

The whole "help the trafficking victims" is bogus BS.

They would actually do a better job fighting human trafficking if "sex work" was decriminalized or legalized. Economic principle: bans create black markets.

Say if hypothetically a person could go to a legally sanctioned and regulated brothel, like that one in Nevada, the Bunny Ranch. Why would he choose a squalid place run by a shady guy where he has to wonder if the girls are there willingly and he could be arrested, when he could go to the other place and pop his cork with a beautiful woman who is 100% consenting sans consequences?

It would kill their market. They would either have to reform into a legit business or downsize and be easier to take down.
