I honestly don't understand why this helo, and I guess a lot of others, fly with only one pilot when taking passengers.

So you're up in the air with a group of passengers and the pilot suffers a heart attack.

Then what?
I was thinking this same thing and wonder if something like that happened... it's also easy to get disorientated in fog, we've seen it so many times with people in these small single engine planes crashing.

I think Kobe's chopper was a private aircraft, right? It seems to me if its private, its his choice whether to have 1 or 2 pilots. I've actually never seen 2 pilots on a non-commercial chopper flight except for military ones.

This dude was a basketball player, big deal. There are a lot more important things in this world to worry about than a basketball player. I can’t believe all the people who overreact about somebody dying… It happens every day unfortunately.
If we paid more attention to our active duty military people putting their lives on the line every day, as we do to celebrities and athletes, we'd have our priorities in a better place.

I'm not judge and jury and I'm certainly not placing an indictment on what had happened. I'm just curious as to if anyone remembers this incident. None of us are perfect and most of us are not referred to as "a perfect example of class, fatherhood, and a mentor and role model of character". So when someone unfortunately passes and is revered in such a glorious light I wonder if folks remember their infidelities!?!
Why do I have a hard time believing your statement: "I'm certainly not placing an indictment on what had happened" when you are making multiple posts for little purpose other than to make sure that incident is thrown up in everyone's face again and again? Yes, I am certain you were just curious if anyone remembered it.

I am neither a Kobe devote nor a Kobe hater. But at least be honest with what you are doing. (And please don't come back and say "I didn't think that's what I was doing.)

How many parents died with their kids over the same time period and didn’t get one mention?
I feel bad and hope they RIP
But all this for a basketball player?
Princess Di and Mother Theresa died the same day but you would hardly know it. I don't canonize many people, but I believe one of those two was--however the press all went to the celebrity. No different here. Our society attention span has very little energy to spend on people who they have not already anointed as important. Yes, RIP all of those who died.

I didn't say it then, but it's been several days, so: we are not the best audience to come here to preach against infidelity. This hobby by definition, promotes infidelity. So I have to wonder if he is including himself since he has several approved reviews.

I'm not going to judge anyone for infidelities. And I'm a superficial NBA fan as well. And I don't really care about movie stars either. But I can acknowledge greatness in these people like Kobe. You can't mourn everyone. But you can have sadness when peoples lives get cut short. What I never understand is when someone dies at age 80 and people go batshit. Those people had full lives. It's better to celebrate the lives of these older people than to mourn their passing. Kobe, it's right to be sad and pay attention to.

This is going crazy, I started this thread as simply a newsreport while watching a golf tournament.
If it provokes a good conversation, then consider it work thy done. I'd rather hear some of the thoughts here than all the talking heads blathering away on TV.
