I couldn't believe it when i read TMZ which was the first source i saw it from. I thought it was a hoax. When WOJ from ESPN announced it, i knew it was real :cry::cry:

Wow, helicopters and small single engine planes are so dangerous. Kobe was very talented and he was a great player. I hope the rumors about his daughter also being in the crash are wrong.

Anyone here travel by helicopters?

I have a few times.

Although I know you're a lot more likely to die in a car accident, in my few times in helos, I always felt the tolerance level between a ho hum flight and disaster was razor thin and owed most to pilot skill.

Very sad news. Being a Celtics fan I always despised the lakers with every fibre of my being, but this is just a horrible tragedy.
Celtics???
WTF???

Yankees, Giants, Rangers, Knicks!
Islanders OK too...
I can even make allowances for Nets and Jets.

That other team that claims to be from NY...no way!

I've done it a fair amount, but always hate it. Planes seem to pretty much fly themselves. Helicopters seem inherently unstable, and the pilot needs to constantly watch out. Nothing really terrible has ever happened to me, but you couldn't pay me to take one for just convenience, like he did.

That was how I felt after being in one. Stability seemed a chore.
