Just noticed this thread.
I made a post in a different thread about one of my recent experiences doing this. Not sure if I was in a "Salon" or "KTV" spot or what the difference really is but everything that is being described in this thread is similar to my recent experience.
Did have some additional questions here about all of this though.
Is it only Chinese and Korean people that frequent these places? I am Indian American and got kind of a "surprised" impression from the hostesses and girls I was there. Was there with my Chinese friend who did all the talking but all together we spent around $1200 I want to say after paying for drinks and tipping the girls. Nothing really happened between us and the girls but at the end of the night one of them seemed to not want to leave without us lol. I did flash a big stack of cash to the girls so they knew I had a lot more cash on me than when was spent in the room. In the end I actually ordered her an Uber for her to go home since she looked like she was falling asleep at the table.
Is it normal for people to visit these places by themselves or would it be frowned upon? Although knowing myself I probably wouldn't go alone...

After reading all your posts from what I have gathered is that the girls will party with you at these places but odds of them fucking the same day are low at best. Also it's better to get their contact numbers and talk to them offline when they aren't working. Have you ever taken one to a hotel the same day?

My friend asked me to tip them while we were still hanging out not when we were leaving. Is it better to tip the girls on the way out?
I noticed one of them left pretty quickly after I tipped her $300 but it was already close to 4am at that point so that may have been more to do with it. The other girl hung out with us until 5:30am as I mentioned above and I did tip her an additional $100 for staying a bit longer. Also I ended up tipping the mamasa $300 total because she let us stay until 6am.

I’m not sure if you went to a Chinese KTV or Korean room salon. At a Korean room salon, I’d say around 80% of the customers are Korean, another 10% are Chinese and Taiwanese and the remaining 10% are Jews, Indians and Hispanic.
I do not recommend going alone. Instead, go with a friend or two.

It was attached to the One Boutique hotel on Northern Blvd and Union ST. I did have a really good time which is why I would like to go again but is it normal for non Asian people to go? My Chinese friend generally works pretty late so I would rather go with someone else so we can get their a bit earlier. Also they mentioned "we can stay until we finish the drinks." We got there at 2am and stayed till 6am so around 4 hours. Is it acceptable to get there say at 12-1am and stay until 4am after purchasing the drinks and tipping everyone?
I'm pretty big in the AMP scenes. I go to all the popular and ones that are "Asian" only because I have a very good relationship with all the shop owners.
I do get the girls wechats but it's mostly just to keep track of what shops they move to and from. I've only ever really hung out with 3 AMP girls and we didn't have sex or anything. We just hung out and got food and drinks.

I’m not too familiar with the Chinese KTVs so I’m not sure what percentage of the customers are non-Asian.
I recommend going earlier and leaving earlier. For example; get there by 9pm and leave at around 1am. Because after 1am, these girls are getting drunk and very tired. You want to catch them when they are not too drunk and full of energy which is before 1am.

With these girls, it’s more of a PPM date (same as SA). These girls will ask you questions such as, “Are you married?”, “Do you have a girlfriend?”, “What do you do for work?”, “Where do you live?” They will also see how you dress and what type of car you drive.
Many of them are looking for a SD to support them because they don’t like this line of work (especially getting a hangover almost every night).
So it won’t be a normal date. Or you can tell them that you want a PPM relationship. That’s what I do.

One of the girls I noticed she was only taking shots of beer and very measured gulps. (Smart girl I'll say)
The other one was drinking vodka and cranberry with us and got very drunk by the time we were finished. Will say I do think I could have taken her home with me or to a hotel at least.
Not sure that would have been possible if we left a bit earlier since the girls stay until the place closes.
But hey what do I know...Will be interesting to experiment in this new scene.

These girls work Monday to Saturday. They need to rest and run errands on Sunday. So meet them on a Monday afternoon at around 3pm. They need to get to the establishment by 8pm on Monday. But Mondays are usually quiet days so the girl will tell the owner that she wants the day off.
And these Korean room salon girls prefer to communicate via Kakao so make sure you have it in your phone.
