Women teaching young men. Every time I see a hot teachers photo come up on the news for having a sex with a teenage boy, I think about how much I dreamed of having sex with a teacher from the age of around 12 til this day. If something like this happened to me, I would be forever grateful and if it had happened to one of my sons. I would have been almost as grateful.
@Chiparlor, the give forward mentality is alive and well. Use that money in a method that will make the giver proud. They work ridiculous hours and it is difficult for a kind hearten person in that situation to distribute charity. She sees you as a portal of good and that is to be commended. This is actually a more difficult circumstance than distributing your own time and money.
“ I think about how much I dreamed of having sex with a teacher from the age of around 12 til this day. If something like this happened to me, I would be forever grateful ...”

That would have been great!

There were a few that were very hot, and they seemed to know it and enjoyed dressing the part wearing short skirts, knee high boots and satin blouses. Who needed playboy and penthouse when I had teachers like them to look at all day.

I agree with what you say except; if someone is gay it doesn’t mean they are a pedophile.
I agree with you ELII. In the civilian ranks, the common pedophile crimes are female to boys and males to girls. In the church ranks it was predominantly priest to boy cases. My intuition as a young father was to be safe. I always worried about my sons being impacted from adult male pedophiles and for sum odd reason, my gaydar lit up red whenever I was in a church.

Agree. As a young father and as an old father I am still concerned for my children’s safety. What you say about church applies to all activities. That’s one of the reasons I was involved in all of their activities. Not the only reason, but one of the reasons.

I can't wait for the day when I move to a state where the property tax bill does not require my left nut. Time's running out.
Property taxes are my biggest concern. I look at everything in terms of property tax. In other words, X costs 1/2 years property tax. This year’s bonus was X years property tax. Annual interest is a years property tax, etc.

My neighbors tell me to remember that giving my left nut to the public school system is doing the right thing for their kids.

First thing is that it depends on the school system. I have less of a problem giving in Montco than I did in Philly, even though it's about 8x higher in Montco. Second, at the very least, there should be a discount when your kids have been out of school for 30 years.

Property tax should be for municipal services, police, fire, water, sewer, roads, etc.

Schools should be funded based upon tuition contributions.

You have four kids in the system? Then your tuition cost is based on that. Once all graduate, no more tuition contribution

The set up now is completely fucked up. Someone with 8 kids in the system pays the same rate as someone with none.

If you pay for their education and the school district educates them correctly, they will become productive citizens and tax contributors of the future. This is a pay forward system NJL. You went thru the system and reaped all the rewards for the taxes others have contributed. It is now your turn to contribute to the next generation of this country. You should be screaming at your school district to educate the children better. You want high incomes in the future to cover your Medicare and SSI benefits.

I'd rather pay lower taxes/rent and be able to save/invest my income now for my own future...
Your kids, your responsibility.
Also, US spends much more per seat in public school than any other country.
Not even close.
Why are we ranked so much lower than countries like Korea, Japan, and Finland then?
This money is being thrown out the window.
Going to pay for cushy, unionized teaching jobs.
What's worse, these public school teachers have a political agenda.
Indoctrinating kids into being ultra leftist, America hating "Antifa" types.

I resent the hell out of my parents. I really do. But I thank them at the top of my lungs for at least one thing. Sending me to Catholic school from K through college.

I have no problem paying. My point is that the system needs to better reflect the role and responsibility of parents.

I'm paying Pre K now, which is glorified daycare.

Right.

Since we are expected to pay for the education of other people's children, should we also chip in for their clothes, groceries, health care?

Anything else we can do for them?

Korea, Japan, Finland...homogeneous populations. Citizens within each nation share the same ethnicity, culture, values, and mores. It's much easier to get things done when everyone's on the same page.

Yep.
Also, those countries concentrate their efforts on the top 50% of students.
We concentrate our efforts (and money) on the bottom 50%. A losing endeavor if there ever was one.
The idiotic quest to prove the myth of "egalitarianism" will bankrupt us.

Well, that's been a good rant for me about school taxes. Like finishing up a massage with my regular gal and dropping a load on her D's. Thank you.

If there is one good thing: my local school system is real good and people want in rather than out. Unloading my place to a young couple with kids will be no problem.

Adios NJEA and all my neighbors telling me I need to cough up a lot of money to educate their kids from diapers to college .
