It isn't right, but there are three and a half groups that often get a pass in public opinion. Entertainment/performers are the worst, but politicians and athletes do as well. So long as the athlete is on "my" team and wins. The half is the clergy--the ones who use their robes as cover for money grabbing at least.

He was wealthy and connected enough to not only apparently bribe other inmates to leave him alone by charging up their prison debit cards, but also able to pay off the guards to look the other way while he took the cowards way out.
Sure, lots of important people he hooked up and then blackmailed are happy the fing scumbag is dead; but in the end there is no need for a conspiracy theory to explain his death-he had the motive, means and money to exit on his own.

It’s funny how conversations about Epstein can tilt into other areas. With a clubby group of guys I had one side conversation that went from talking about whether he did it himself (he thought yes) and that any prostitution is gross to another convo a few days later with another guy who thought somone offed Epp and then meandered on to how he himself had innocently went to an amp on a recommendation and was ‘surprised’ by the turnovah HE in a strip mall known to many on this board.

I work with a Chinese American guy. Him and his buddies talk about it with me.
We've been to some of the same places, but on average they frequent the joints that are slightly less "roses" than what I frequent.
And some of the American agencies I use, they let me know, are way out of their price range.
But that's understandable since they are married.

The overarching goal with the judiciary is to get abortion overturned as a Constitutional right.
If that happens, abortion will return to the states. Some will keep it as a crime, some will keep it legal (much like prostitution, though almost all states criminalize prostitution).
I know a couple of mongers opposed to abortion, but paid for one in their younger days when they got into a little "jam."

If I remember right, the late SCOTUS said Currency is part of Free Speech. If that is the case, is the government violating our Free Speech to spend our currency?

My 2 cents on changing it:
1) Allow anyone to opt out at any time.
2) For those (like us) who opt out after paying in for a long time, we get back what we paid in (over time) + 5% interest.
Pay for the "opt out" by cutting military spending, govt worker staff/salary/pensions/benefits, and eliminating social programs.

Your snswer is very short sighted, it is much more complicated. it would take alot of smart people, smarter than you or I to figure it out.
For every simple idea, many dominoes would fall and create alot of financial and social implications. A much tougher conversation than can ever be discussed one post at a time.
