You have to read about Epstein's life. It was quite fascinating. I think he helped build and develop the securitized mortgage product mortgage that held wreck the world's economy 11 years ago.

I'll have to dissent here. Potato peeling and toilet cleaning isn't their primary function. That's just something they do during down time. You'll want them there when they need to perform their primary function, in whatever role that may be.

Maybe not so much potato peeling etc the last couple decades with all the for profit support providers raking in the bucks. A bit similar to the for profit prison industry and for profit education lobbies.

That must have been a long time ago. I was in from 85 to 93 and every battalion level unit had outside contractors for KP.

We were in around the same time. We had outside contractors for the Mess Hall, but that doesn't stop the SgtMj from giving you KP when you pissed him off.

I was in a little earlier but overlapping. No KP, at least not in camp. But lots of latrine duty for punishment, mostly for drunks. More often, at least in the ME though it was MOPP suits and running circles around base perimeter. At least that was my choice as one of those guys that dealt it.
