Really guys who the eff really cares with the exception of a Wife .. I personally know of at least 3 busts where the phones were all confiscated and no one was ever bothered or contacted by LE.. sometimes I think this whole “James Bond” thing with the phones is nonsensical…the technology is there to find you if someone really wants to track you down ..if you’re that important ..and a “burner” is just another piece of physical evidence that your Wife will eventually find and use against you in Divorce proceedings…
.. get a decent App that is private and don’t get caught texting your ATFs at 3:00 am and you’ll be ok…
… just MHO..
.. Happy New Year Guys..
Or texting at 3:00 pm

Swappa.com or backmarket.com are both used phone sites. I have sold used phones on Swappa and can vouch for it. A used Samsung Galaxy S6 is about $50. Buy the plan and SIM card first. Years ago I signed up for T-mobile prepaid Gold plan, paying $100 cash.

I can keep that plan active by adding a minimum of $10 a year, which I do over free Opera VPN with Vanilla Visa, also paid for with cash. T-Mobile has no idea who I am and I have hundreds of minutes in my account. It's good enough to fool a divorce attorney, but probably not the Secret Service.

A real advantage to this setup is you can use this number to sign up for Whatsapp, Viber, etc, and add a G-mail account, making international mongering very simple and discrete.

Sorry for the delay guys. So here is my solution (and answer to my prayers).
If you have an Android, there's something called secure folder. You can activate it on and off whenever you want buy swiping down. It has its own pin password. You can download apps there that will not show up in the regular Android app. Same with contacts phone numbers pictures and movies and downloaded files. It's all independent from the regular phone.
I use textnow app. I use it to make hobby phone calls as well. You can set it to not ring (receive notifications) at all. I also have a Twitter account there, my hobby yahoo email, my hobby bookmarks and Snapchat. I also have telegram set there. It's easy to set up, just search "secure folder android". And it's all free.
Anyone else uses that?

Burner phone— I buy a pay as you go one at Walmart—with cash! When it’s time to activate it, I use a landline of a business that I am not associated with that also has no cameras. I also remove the battery when I am not using. I generally replace every 3 months—it’s cheap.

Does anyone know of any call recorder apps?
I need to record a few phone calls (audio), both incoming and outgoing and cannot find anything that works good.
I tried a few (full version) not the trials, and they would only record for 30 some seconds, or wouldn't connect at all.
I have an Iphone.

Try Otter. The version has a 30 min limit but you can re-record right away. It also creates transcript of the call

One question. If I call/text someone via Textnow, is the call history still saved in data center of my service provider or the app company? If I delete the app all the history gone forever? Any idea?

More than likely. The most probably reason for that is technical (need to keep in case of restoration due to a network or database failure). I doubt there is real interest in your message history. For better or worse, the Internet is forever. Act according to your personal risk tolerance.
