Some Northern Jersey residents near the Meadowlands consider Edison to be South Jersey
It's all a matter of perspective.
The Meadowlands (Secaucus) is deep in North Jersey, which is understood. However, Edison is not too far south to be “South Jersey.” Their only about 15 minutes apart with no traffic.

The map posted looks pretty right on. A pal of mine who is in Ho Ho Kus always said that the dividing line was wherever you stop seeing Eagles gear and start seeing Giants gear. Also anyone who calls Taylor pork roll anything other than pork roll is a serial killer.

I have no skin in this game but I did find this interesting. Is this argument but ado about nothing? "John Taylor of Trenton didn't invent pork roll until 1856. He first called it Taylor ham, but federal legislation declared that ham is a specific cut of pork. Taylor changed the name to pork roll in 1906, and while the original name stuck in the northern part of the state, folks further south still call it pork roll."

Here in my area of PA, it's Taylor Pork Roll, in red box. Maybe the pork roll naming commission from Washington can come with their swat team and tell us all to GET ON THE GROUND! lmao I had something called pork roll but it was in a roll like in clear plastic and you had to cut it yourself, and it was unpleasant. That Taylor pork roll sliced in the red box is amazing like they might put some drugs in there to make you want to eat the whole box at once!

How in the hell are you going to go from Edison to the Meadowlands in 15 minutes, even at 200 am? A quick Google search puts it at 34 minutes.

I think you’re right. At 75 MPH, I usually get it done in less than 30. I fluctuate between 75 to 80 MPH. Exit 15 on the NJTP to Woodbridge at exit 11. Not a long stretch. No speed traps to deal with unlike the GSP. You can bet there will always be a Trooper lying in wait at between exit 131 (Metro Park) and exit 135 (Rahway). That’s been the case in all my years of driving. I always recommend using the truck lanes.

Right. Living in north Jersey, once you get down to like morristown on route 287 south it's all pretty much the hinterlands to us, the rest of the state below is one long stretch that we just consider south jersey, inaccurate and imprecise I know but nonetheless...

I think anything south of I-195 is south Jersey, anything south of I-78 is central Jersey.
If that’s the case, that would place Newark/Elizabeth as Central Jersey, which is totally not the case. Newark/Elizabeth is 1000% North Jersey. Union, Hudson, Essex, Bergen, and Passaic counties are all considered the “6th borough” of New York City.

There’s some exceptions to this, as in the ones you just described.
