What is south NJ?

I'm not sure if this has been debated before but I'm not sure what people mean by south NJ. Is it Mt Laurel/Camden area? Or is it AC/Toms River area?

I always thought AC was on Jersey Shore, whereas Camden is in south NJ.

Don't believe a word Google tells you. The state of New Jersey is long and narrow. Take the distance from top to bottom and divide by 3. It is simple math really. But we have stupid government agencies and the Alphabet fuckheads who have never been to New Jersey telling us what is North, Central,and South Jersey.
I took a ruler to a map one time and draw a line for the sections and it is not close to what the powers that be are saying. Oh it is all about tourism they say . The lines cut across from Washington,NJ, and around Camden. North of Washington is North Jersey, South of Camden is South Jersey. In between is Central Jersey.
But then again I don't live there. But I did stay at a Holiday Inn once. Now was that in East,South,New, or North Brunswick. And where is the Brunswick's ,in fuckin Central Jersey of course.

To me, anything south of 195 is “south jersey” but ask someone in Cape May and they’ll have different answers.

It's even more confusing in this hobby. A girl advertises in SNJ but you find out she's in AC. For a guy living in Philly, going to Central Jersey is way easier than AC or TR.

I would think folks in Bordentown might say they are in Central Jersey and those in Tom's River too or maybe the "shore area"
everyone South of that line would probably say they live in South Jersey

This argument is never easily settled about how to properly divide the state into North Central South. Christ..we can't even agree on Pork Roll or Taylor Ham

We have 2 artifical borders already in place that make this really easy. If you live North of I 78 you live in North Jersey. If you live south of I 78 and North of I 195 you live in Central Jersey. If you live south of I 195 you live in South Jersey.

I also consider Trenton to be the dividing line between North and South Jersey. We should all just keep it simple.

Since Trenton is a state capital, like other capitals, it is situated as close as possible to center of the state to provide equal access to all citizens...

The Trenton natives consider Philadelphia as their neighboring city. More so than New York City. At least most of the natives that I knew. That’s why I consider anywhere north of Trenton “North Jersey.”

It's all a matter of perspective.
