It may, one way to automatically connect to WeChat is to put the girls phone number in yours and the connect invitation comes right up.

KakaoTalk can be set up with phone number too.

You can search on a phone number, but the person doing the search needs to know your phone first. If you make a call, you can connect via the phone, but can't see the phone number. Even if you look at a contact you have, you can see their WeChat ID, but not their phone number. If I'm wrong about this, let me know.
