Most of the mms' at amps in NYC believe that if they can get a guy in the door, he’s going to stay no matter how long he must wait or with whom he ends up. It’s that Seinfeldian scenario where amps are great at taking the reservation but not good at holding the reservation. Until the practice is bad for business, the problem will persist which probably means it will go on forever. Hubris is a bitch though and sometimes I believe I can fix the unfixable. That’s why I’m starting a thread where we can document and talk about problematic scheduling or bait and switch experiences. Hopefully it will help mongers get a sense of which houses are more reliable than others. Also, if the thread takes off and the mms’ (many of whom are on here) see a record of their transgressions they might adjust their behavior. I’m not holding my breath, but hey, a guy can dream.

I’ve been in the game for a while, long enough that I know how to make my mongering experiences smooth either by booking with houses where I’m a regular or booking directly with the girl I’m going to see and then confirming the booking with the mms. Because mongers can be unreliable, I also always confirm the appt an hour out and then let them know when I’m on my way over so the mms knows for sure I’m coming.

Because of the above it’s rare that I have a problem. But a couple days ago I unwittingly created an experience where I was treated like a noob. I made an appointment with NYAF ( have only a few visits there but at their predecessor NYAW I was a several year reg) to see a girl who has jumped around a little and with whom I am a long time regular. Foolishly I thought it would be fun to surprise her so I didn’t tell her I was coming and just booked with the shop. Other than texting the provider I did as described above by sending a couple of confirmation texts. iThe mms, not sure who it was blew the appointment and things went sideways fast "girl isn't ready, please try this other girl, wait 30 minutes" etc etc. Another benefit of experience in this game is having the fortitude to walk which I did.

I'm curious to hear your experiences in this arena. I suspect it happens more often than most of us know.

Since I normally go the the place as a walk in not looking for a certain person I do not hit this. When I have hit that everyone is busy if it is a few min I will stay if it is more then 10 min I will walk out.

I’ve been pretty lucky at the major houses when I request a specific girl, since I usually ask who is available around a rough time frame. I recently had a session start with someone and the manager tried to switch girls to accommodate a customer who was very late for an appointment (hence they gave her to me). I basically held my ground not easy lying on a table naked) and they worked it out. I’ve had more problems with indies telling me to come over and then finding out after I’ve traveled across town that they’ve double booked. I never go back to them unless I think it’s a legitimate mistake.

I also get pissed when I’m told I have a choice of 3-4 girls and when I get there 5 min later everyone is magically busy but the least desirable one. I definitely leave when I know I’ve been lied to and I let them know that.

I had that experience at Shangrila a couple months ago. I did the same as you: politely let them know how I felt and then walked.

One place, a place where I am a LONG TIME regular and the mgmt knows me quite well, has recently been texting me 10, 15 , 20 before my appt is scheduled asking "where are you" and telling me "she is ready now". Obviously they are trying to confirm a subsequent booking at a time that would eat into my hour, and they are trying to get me to show up early. Sheesh! And that's how they treat a "VIP" (their words, not mine...I think a lot of us are referred to as "VIP" at this place).

But really, it's just an annoyance, not a deal breaker. As long as they keep getting hot new girls, I'll keep going.

Years ago I once visited a certain below-street-level amp with a well-known mms. I was scheduled for one of my regulars there at the time, but the mms sent me not 1, not 2, but 3 switches. I wouldn't have minded the switches if any of them were reasonably attractive but they all fell off the ugly tree, hitting every branch down. In fury as I started walking out the mms grabbed my arm, trying to concede and lure me back in. That instant I almost lost my mind. "GET THE FUCK BACK IN, YOU DIRTY BITCH!" I don't remember I ever shouted that loud to a woman in my existence. She just stood there frozen silently 5 feet away as I waited for the elevator. Looking back I find the experience hilarious, especially my over-reaction. Like Auto said, it's just an annoyance, it's part of the game. Always carry the option to walk away.

@AutomaticSlim you wrote in a thread that I think was subsequently deleted. . . it was a convo on a related topic, something to the effect that when confronted with the run around at an amp (paraphrasing) guys should just be a little patient, relax and get what they came for. I thought it was sage advice at the time and rolled it around in my head a little when I was at NYAF the other night and also when deciding whether or not to start this thread. I think there's a time for that but also a time to walk and it's sort of an in the moment judgement call.

A 15 minute wait that looks like it'll be 15 minutes I'm more or less ok with even if I find it irritating. I'm a married monger with a job that doesn't leave me much downtime so the window I carve out for a session isn't very flexible. If I get a sense that the mms isn't being straight with me I walk.

I know the shop and mms you're referring to @Michael_Choo . I had an experience there once where I got bjs from 3 different girls including the mms while she spun the wheel trying to make something happen. What a mess. Sounds like fun but it wasn't. . . until that slim thick thai girl showed up. I forget her name, only saw her once (or twice?) She was great. For me these days switching providers is a no go. I know some guys have a different take on it but if I go to the trouble of making an appointment somewhere it's either with a regular or I've done research on the girl, read reviews, maybe even dmed somebody about her and that's who want to see.

So yeah Slim, a little patience and get what you came for but also some hard limits so I'm not waiting in a room or behind a curtain for 45 minutes or boning a shapeless uninspired 42 yr old when I came for a documented nymphomaniac with huge tits. When I was learning my way around both those things happened.

At the risk of pissing them off and getting blacklisted-risk seems relatively low but it's there I suppose-I'm naming the shops. If I don't the comments are useless to you guys.

But seriously I agree with you. I have similar demands on my time and also make it a point to be prompt. If there was a specific provider I have gone out of my way to see (and since I work downtown, almost everyone is out of my way) and she is not avaialble when booked, I will walk and just count myself lucky to have saved some cash.

otoh there are times when I can just roll with the punches, especially if I didn't start the day hoping to see one specific person. And that can be very fun.

I haven’t experienced much waiting anywhere but I usually only go to a few spots where I’m a regular and I always book at least 1-2 days in advance confirm the morning of and confirm again before making the trip over. I’ve been late a few times and in those cases I usually end up waiting a bit but never more than 5 minutes. Not sure if I’ve just been lucky or if the spots I frequent just avoid double booking.

NYCSE, 10ten, or I book with Kim. Those are my go to spots in NYC.

I think the cardinal rule of hobbying is "be prepared to walk."

The number of places I've walked out of is probably 5x the number I've had sessions at. It's my money and my limited time. If it looks like I'm going to be rushed, I walk. If the girl doesn't measure up to my reasonable attractiveness standards (without some other positive factor), I walk. If the girl has even a semblance of negative attitude (and is not smoking hot lol), I walk.

I popped in to 67 Eldridge a few months ago, I'd never been. Mostly curious to see the famous Susan, but also to see the other talent. Girl who answered the door was not attractive, but I saw someone impossibly hot walking in the back of the store. Asked who it was, she said "Kiki." "Can I see her?" "No, busy. Come back in half hour."

So spent a half hour getting a delicious slice at Scarr's and came back. Kiki was lounging in the front, and I couldn't believe a woman this attractive was working AMPs, much less a budget shop like 67E. She took me to one of the small rooms, I got undressed and got on the table, trembling with anticipation. A few minutes passed and a man walked in speaking Mandarin. Susan popped in the room and told me Kiki was no longer available and did I want her or another girl. Susan looked all right, but a steep dropoff from Kiki, so I just said "no thanks", got dressed and left. No cursing, no glares, no drama, I just politely left. Unpredictability is a part of the AMP game, and the best antidote is stick to your guns and vote with your feet.

A month later, was in the area, popped in to 67E and asked for Kiki, was told "half hour". Enjoyed another delicious slice at Scarr's and came back. This time got a full Kiki session. Holy shit, she is the most attractive AMP woman I've been with. And very upbeat and professional, at no point discussed any kind of money, just smiled when I gave her $100 at the end. Service was basic though, just enough CBJ to get some wind in the sails and then FS with her eyes squeezed shut the whole time lol. If I felt like I had any kind of shot of getting GFE service from her, I'd be broke by now.

I've been told by others that mongers themselves are unreliable. Double booking is a solution to this. They do this in healthcare too. Because people are flakey and if a provider or doctor isn't busy, its time and money wasted. In other words, it sucks for the honest reliable people out there that pay a price because others have screwed things up.

I don't doubt that for a second. It's 100% why you have to communicate with them as you land the plane so they know you're actually coming.

Yeah, it's telling that I've been in the area a couple of times subsequently and I haven't checked out 67E but have been to Scarr's lol.

I'm in Philly so I can't speak to particular parlors in NYC. I almost always go to one of my reliable quality shops. Like CFP said I also have certain providers that I see, so I text them when I want to come and then make an appointment with the MMS or Emo. I use to call ahead before arriving too, but now both the girls and the management at these places know I will always make my appointment unless there is an emergency and then I call to cancel and explain what happened. This has happened only a couple times. The only downside is that once you are well known at the shop they will call or text some rarely to ask you if you can bump the appointment time a little or even come early. Sometimes it's the Emo but more often it's the actual girl that calls or text. They do favors for me too so it works out well. Extended sessions, no house fee sometimes or maybe lunch after my session, so it's well worth being a little flexible. Making the whole experience personal and friendly really goes a long way to having a easy time making appointments.
