I saw something here about Tabasco and it got me thinking about hot sauces, barbeque sauces, and spice rubs. Suggestions are welcome.

I like a lot of hot sauces, pricing varies, but my favorite is Pure Louisiana Crystal with Garlic.

It's not just about the heat, but the flavor.

been using Crystal for years. Tasty!

Okay, time for tomato sauces.

The best marinara I ever had was the sauce made by my old girlfriend's mom. Damn good.

As far as what I can buy, I used to like Francesco Rinaldi original. Had a good olive oil flavor to it. Now, probably Rao's.

We are on the same page . Raos is the best store bought sauce . Though nothing can compete with an Italian grandma or aunt , that’s for sure

I've often wondered what the original Chef Boiardi's sauce was like. I watched a show about him and when he decided to sell his tomato sauce by the jar, they were lining up for blocks in Cleveland to buy it.

Memorial Day cookout with a moment of silence for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for this nation.

Since the corona virus blues are still swarming around us, we did not have a huge family picnic this year but we still ate well and of course added some hot sauce to anything and everything on my plate!!!

Enjoy the day.

I was unable to find a bottle of Crystal Hot Sauce with Garlic the other day. Generally my favorite of the hot sauces.

I bought a bottle of Frank's instead. Have to give Frank's credit. A rich strong flavor. This is important, as hot for the sake of hot forgets the importance of tasting good.

I love hot sauce and keep several commercial sauces on hand at all times. With the exception of Sriracha, there's nothing like making your own hot sauce. I got this Man Crate kit and had a blast with it. It contains three 2 oz purees - Carolina Reaper Pepper, Naga Morich Pepper, and Habanero Pepper Puree, a recipe book, and some other gadgets to mix the purees with fresh ingredients. I've done stews with a subtle background heat to a challenge your manhood levels of spiciness. The heat from these purees also adds a nice kick to home made BBQ sauce to offset the traditional brown sugar and molasses flavors. Highly recommended.
