Apparently the girls order sushi from there once and a while. The guy making the sushi at ACME on city ave is amazing. Huge selection, very fresh. 2 miles from my house and priced right. A Korean friend in Chinatown says it's the best she has had when I take it there.
That's shocking. I never had an amazing experience with grocery store sushi. Not saying you are wrong, just saying it's definitely not the norm in my hood!

Try Wegmans in Warrington.
I will if I ever get out that way. I'm closer to Wegmans in KOP... I'm not saying their stuff sucks but I personally want to eat it as soon as its made, or the rice gets hard/freshness decreases. In the time of Covid closing in person dining that is an issue. Sushiwa (near HH which is excellent) is still take out only, so I can't enjoy a nice lunch there and a session. I miss those days.

The Giant near me makes great sushi. Nice fat rolls and good variety.
Wednesdays they have a 4.99 special. Beats Wegmans by a mile. And gives the local sushi/fusion spots a run for their money. If you time it right, you can get sushi grade tuna at a discounted price. Sliced, peppered and pan seared is my favorite.

I haven't found anyone in the area that beats Ooka on Sushi quality. As stated already, Wegman's sushi isn't bad and the price is a little better than Ooka. The Giant by me doesn't do sushi anymore, since they put in the beer shop.

Have you tried Sushiwa? It's not that far from Ooka

House fee is a constant but, they are flexible on the tip based on the service provided. A fixed amount posted here is not the best for their business.
