So how does one do this as a complete newb to the hobby as a whole? Call ahead for appointment and time/slot and ask for specific girl? Nego later?

If you haven't been to a certain place just walk in and see what and who is there and take your pick. If you want to try someone who's been reviewed call and book an appointment with the provider.

Curious about Cindy, I went to Ling 3 times, always busy. Walk twice, since I do not like to wait due to LE concerns.
3rd time I asked a mamasan, an older lady that used to be very popular while working at 40th Rd, this time she says no FS, just massage.

I didnt actually ask any questions at Ling. The woman who opened the door said none of the masseuses were in. But legit, if I'm calling ahead to see Cindy (or any other preferred provider) I'm assuming most people make same day or next day appointments?

Ling’s is generally more than fine with walk-ins. It’s possible you caught them on a bad day (tipped off inspectors coming, toilet backed up, everyone actually at Macy’s catching some cosmetics sale).

Maybe they decided to switch to a “foreigners only” business model LOL. That would blow everyone’s mind. Asian guys PMing each other for the secret code, asking non-Asians to vouch for them, starting obsessive threads....

Most likely, you being a “bundle of nerves” and busting out your American-born accented Mandarin, combined with what I’m taking a wild guess are your very youthful looks,
I’m standing by my original guess that you reminded them of someone’s son and that was just too much cognitive dissonance. (They are NOT nonconformists).

Honestly, you are so meticulous on the board, it makes you seem kinda Narc-ey. I can only imagine what it’s like in person.

By the time you stake out the block surrounding ABC Spa until you familiarize yourself with all the local businesses and the routines of their patrons, measure the distance from the spa to each of the Botanic Garden entrances, and pepper all the monger boards with clarifying questions about the staff rotation and floor plan, Cindy will surely be walking backs in Reno. Maybe you should just abandon your monger ambitions until a later date and knock off other items on your bucket list.

Ha. I guess. Maybe you're right, I'm probably far too easily spooked for this hobby. You think if I go back, they will remember that they turned me away once before?

I mean, are these questions out of place for a newbie? I would have imagined its fairly reasonable to want to know what the general practice of the more experienced hobbyists so as to not come off strange or potentially get busted. Of course the irony is that it does make me seem more narc-y as ChaCha says.

Apologies for the double post, missed the editing window on the previous post to include the reply.

As we all know Cindy is not at Ling. Cindy is at ABC. And, there are 5 spas in the same block where ABC is located. Visit them all and make a decision.

Forget Ling, they have changed their business model since you started asking about Cindy.
