Ah yes.
Breathing exhaust fumes from vehicles burning leaded gasoline.
Any indoor space would be filled with tobacco smoke, so you're breathing second hand smoke all day.
Drinking gallons of beverages with carcinogenic artificial sweeteners.
Riding around loose in the back of a pickup truck.
Mercurochrome in the medicine cabinet.
Riding bikes behind the mosquito spray truck. (Mmm, DDT!)

I have no idea how I made it this far.

Back to the original point, Slim is right. High fructose corn syrup is one of the worst things one can consume. Absolutely toxic.

Hey if there is a Quaker in on the front of the box how bad can it be, Quakers don't lie.
Remember the old cereal commercials where they would show a bowl of the sugar frosted marshmallow sugar squares with glass of OJ, a glass of milk, some toast and a piece of fruit, saying that the cereal was "part of this nutritious breakfast?" Sure, the nutritious part was everything else. The cereal was crap.

OMG don't get me started. High fructose corn syrup was a devil's bargain cooked up by Nixon's Secretary of agriculture, Earl Butz. .. ironically; an example of a highly intelligent and energetic person that can wreak wide-ranging damage in the right circumstances.

Compare pictures of crowd photos taken before 1970.. you'll see most people were at a healthy weight.

one positive aspect of this hobby, is that it gives you an awareness and an incentive to take care of your body.

Given every adult I knew all smoked heavily indoors — relatives, friends, neighbors — I was averaging two packs a day of Chesterfield non filters from the age of two.

I remember my first doctor. He used to adjust the stethoscope between drags on his Lucky Strike.
My father quite smoking in '63 after his father died from lung cancer. He made it to 80.
My uncle (his brother) died at 59 from emphysema. Heavy smoker obviously.
Another uncle (father's brother in law) died at 69 from pancreatic cancer. He was also a heavy smoker.

When I think back how they looked when they were my age...I look at least 20 years younger than they did.
I don't think it was just the smoking, but that played big part I am sure.

At least the Camels didn't have the wonderful Micronite filter like the Kents. Those filters were made out of asbestos.

That's a top 50 NBA player right there...first great point guard.

I looked it up and apparently he had serious regrets about doing that ad, and eventually rescinded his endorsement.
Guy had some integrity.

“All of us were looking to scrounge every dollar we could those days,” Cousy tells me, in that inimitable accent, from his home in Florida. “Nowadays, the high-profile jock, for a national ad, will get a million bucks probably. I was getting a thousand dollars. Kent cigarettes came around. We didn’t have agents. A guy called me. I said ‘fine,’ and I did the ad. Then I came to my senses. The ad came out and I said to myself, ‘This is not an image I wanna be associated with.’ So I contacted the guy and told him my feelings. I said, ‘I would just as soon return the money — let’s shake hands and forget the whole thing.’ We had, I guess, a good relationship, and they took the ad back. “We were all ghetto kids, scrounging for everything we could. When someone offered you a thousand dollars to pose, you jumped at it without giving it a lot of thought. I simply made a mistake in judgment. I didn’t wanna be telling kids to smoke. Even in those days, early ’50s, we were aware that smoking ciggies wasn’t the best thing for you. Anyway, that’s the only time in my career I ever gave money back.”

Smoking and alcohol are the two greatest direct poisons we sell. Abuse them at your own peril.
pay attention to the kidney and liver deaths, excess pain pills are eating them up.
Let's talk about all those wonderful superfund sites, many of which were play grounds for kids back in the day.
You guys remember Ralph Nader. The guy would walk around and just point out obvious dangers from product in mass market.
Betty Crocker Recipes all recommended cooking in lard.
Modern day poisons.
Fast food fat and sucrose corn syrup. This is a two for one deal.
Social Media!!!!!
Fentanyl?
Spray on sunscreen. Do you ever get caught down wind of that shit? Something that makes me gage that bad cannot be good for you.
