Does anyone feel that by spending money at an amp we are adding to the problem? Since most will agree, providers don’t pay taxes on full earnings. Most of the money they earn doesn’t get circulated back into our economy. According to watch groups such as Polaris amps take in billions.
The Polaris Project pushes terribly fraudulent information. They never get called on it, either.

Oh, excuse me. I've just been working full time and contributing to Social Security for the last 35+ years. But I guess that doesn't count, eh?
Social security should not have existed. Program should be scrapped over the next 10 years.

Most poor youths enter the labor market at a younger age. If they stay poor ( usually due to lack of skills and bad decisions) they cannot retire at retirement age and live off of their Social Security check. So now at age 65+ they are working to pay for benefits they are not receiving.

I oppose any direct public aid except for cases of physical and mental incapacity (such as veteran aid.) If you are healthy then you should receive 0. However setting up a system where the poor have to pay into a program that they will unlikely receive shows how inefficient and terrible large government programs are.

Millenials see problems but they (in general) are retarded in picking solutions. We have to learn to work with the hands we are dealt. College loans are high because people choose to get useless degrees in a private college and dorm while saying they are broke but always with an $8 Starbucks coffee.

Most of the youth today doesn't impress me. I started working at the age of 16, worked during college and during the summers, and held down two jobs while also going to school. Was it easy, hell no. And it took me years to pay off my student loans. I felt like the loans were a chain around my neck. I look around at the kids in my neighborhood and most are sitting on their asses with their phones and video games.

Good point. Hey this thread was pretty active before we got here...guess all the Boomers went to bed
Yes. Went to bed . Up now, getting ready to work with my UK customer. Gonna follow the sun today and work 16 hours today. We have some American millennials, I could offload to them, but their useless for hard work. They are more interested in planning out what microbrewery to go to tonight, and what restaurant to go to. Or comedy show, or which crappy superhero movie to go to. Or sporting event.
All things I didn’t do much of after college for 10 years as I bought a house and paid off my student loans .
I don’t buy the student loan thing and I don’t buy the struggle.

My company pays a decent starting salary ( over 100k) for qualified kids. We expect them to work hard, we reward them fast. I see it all the time here. Our American kids piss away money on cars, eating out, sport events, bars and breweries. They live with mommy and daddy, because it allows them free rent so they can piss away more money. Our Asian kids live 4 to a one bedroom apartment ship most of their pay home. Millennials want everything now, whether it’s buying a BMW as their first car, going to Bannf skiing, or being out socializing 4 nights a week.

Or going to an amp, which is something I never did in my twenties and thirties while I built a career.

I’m not sitting in judgement as much as saying it’s a no brainer who we hire mostly, and it sucks that I’m still working 60 hour weeks when I want to slow down some at 62, but can’t because we have more work than qualified people.

It definitely counts and good on you. The point is that you’ll get to reap the benefits
If kids these days weren't so fucking stupid to be duped into the college debt machine and expecting to be bailed out by an old fuck like me... I could give a shit about the whining about college debt. No one ever pushes back on why the colleges keep raising tuition and building their kingdoms. As long as the government continues to fund the habit the pusher will keep selling.

I was around 25 the first time I heard to plan for SS going bankrupt, meaning 35 years ago. At least when it collapses and stops making payments in , millennials wont have dropped 40-50 years of their salary in.

I used to give annually to my alma mater. Then I realized they were paying students an hourly wage to call people like me for money. Shut that down very quickly. It takes gall to ask for money when sitting on an endowment literally in the billions.

You know she was being heckled by the boomer while doing her job. Is that not “disrespectful” or “unbecoming” by an elected official? Or are you really just that weak that you can’t handle women talking back
There you go being disrespectful again...
Do they not teach manners in those "broken, divorced homes" you speak of?
You and her would make a good pair.
Why don't you look her up?

And yes, females should absolutely behave differently. It worked that way for over 100,000 years until the 60s (and even then, only in western and westernized countries).
Are you so "weak" you cannot call out a female exhibiting bad behavior?

Sounds familiar. Had to try and scrape up enough cash to pay one student loan off early so I could quality for my first mortgage. That was tough. Bought in 86 only to experience the crash of 87 for which it took what seemed a lifetime to recover from.

I have no college nor formal educational training, nor did I finish High school, ended up getting a G.E.D, I started my first part time job at 14, been working since, now I'm self employed, own two and one half successful businesses, nobody ever gave me a handout. For me, its about being or becoming self dependant. I'm a firm believer in working hard or doing whatever it takes to be self sufficient, sometimes it took me to work more than one job just to keep bills paid and food on the table, I look back now, grateful for what I've accomplished and the ability to help others. I just don't see the same drive in the young people. I employed a mid twenties guy up to a couple years ago, he was great at his craft, he was paid well, yet he was always broke, his vehicle wasn't being maintained, it was how he got from one jobsite to another obviously, although he wouldn't spend to keep it rolling, I helped him several times to no avail, he seemed to think he had it all figured out, now he works at a local UPS warehouse loading trucks, he hates it.

If somebody comes to my job and heckles me you’re damn right they’re going to get a piece of my mind. That’s just standing up for yourself. If you had a daughter you’d hope she’d do the same if some sad old dinosaur like you disrespected her.
The fact you think women shouldn’t even be able to do something as small as verbally defend themselves says it all about how threatened you are.

urn off Hannity and actually talk to a younger person.
Well, I have talked to younger people, including my own kids. A lot of them have clearly been indoctrinated, presumably by their teachers (who rarely have real world experience), "hip" TV shows or celebrity personalities. Just the other day I had one mention Greta Thunberg to me (Google her) and I had to patiently explain that this is a 16 year old whose only claim to fame is spouting off about how angry & indoctrinated she is. Even you talked about "climate change". Personally, I have not observed any real climate change. It still gets cold in the winter and hot in the summer. My own sense is that its just a hoax to scare the sheeple, get more tax $$, justify migration and enable a whole bunch of other liberal policies. Yeah, some "scientists" back it 'cause they are on the gravy train;. Scientists can be whores too (there are lots of ways to be a whore). Anyway, too many young people are embracing Socialism because they think Capitalism makes them work too hard and limits their free shit. They are so misinformed that they have no clue why/how Socialism could backfire on them big time.

Social security should not have existed. Program should be scrapped over the next 10 years.
I really wish I did have all the $$ I contributed to SS over the years back. But that's never going to happen. I do know the reality is that it's all been spent and the IOUs are only worth as much as the US Government can continue to borrow. You may have heard about negative interest rates. Those are coming and are key to financing SS (and other Government spending) in the future. Schemes will hurt us all (especially those of us who actually tried to do the right thing and save) because there is no free lunch. Another reason why I don't mind spending on AMPs and SBs. I want to enjoy my $$ before I croak.

If you don't spend your money, someone else will.

A monger who passed away recently said that to me several years ago.
