Yes. How many of these kids do you know that take a year off to find themselves, travel, surf, etc? I’ve never been without a job since I was 15, and haven’t taken more than a weeks vacation in 15 years. Not bragging, there’s lots of guys my age that are similar, and the generation before us were even harder working.
And yes they mean boomer as an insult. And I say millennial with a sneer back.
I guess the other problem we’ll have is that the Asian countries are going to chew up our kids and spit them out over the next 20 years.

It boils down to some people who have no desire to work regardless of their generation category. I am a boomer myself and started to work when I was 12 years old before the government enforces the labor laws. We can't blame the generations because our government does not practice what they preach, hence, we do not practice what we preach. Examples: We can't talk discriminate races and etc, but we can discriminate Left or Right as well as Generation category baffles my head.
Enjoy cashing that social security check that younger people pay into and won’t see a dime of.
Millennials - at least in big cities - work longer hours on average than any generation since the advent of the labor movement. I’m sure most of you are still working age so you know that work today is a 16-18 hour a day deal - you’re always connected, never really “off”. They also pay into social security despite the fact they’ll likely never see a dime of it.
If I was older I wouldn’t like “OK Boomer” either but here’s what it’s about:
Older folks have created a society where all the economic growth goes to a very small percentage of the popukation. The cost of schooling, housing, healthcare and almost every other basic need have skyrocketed. Wages have barely moved. The world’s weather patterns are increasingly volatile. Your divorce rate is north of 50 percent - most of us grew up in broken homes so we don’t pursue marriage the same way if at all.
And none of y’all will rage any responsibility! You just roll your eyes and say we buy too many iced coffees. Get the fuck outta here

I'm a Boomer. But I also have two recent college grads as kids so I can't be uninvolved. They both are working, but even with market salaries, they are having a hard time making a go at it. Both still live at home to build some level of savings. Even then, I still see having to help them financially when the time comes.
It doesn't. I've been paying about the same amount. What you and I put into Social Security covered those that got benefits before us. Everyone working now is running the risk of Social Security running dry before we die. While you can I will get some of the benefits, chances are it won't equate to what we put in. And anyone younger than us is facing the possibility of no benefits for something that they've contributed to.
Honestly, every generation has had their "ok, grandpa" or "ok gramps" sentiment to the generation above them. Actually the boomers had this exact same moment during the 60s counter culture and anti-vietnams war protests except it was probably even more pervasive and perhaps more violent (sorry wasn't alive then). Millenial and Gen Zers are now in that same phase. But ironically compared to the 60s they are more mellow. Maybe they need to get more extreme to get heard. This just seems like a normal passing of the baton. In 40s years they'll say "ok millennial"!
The real reason many of us Boomers look down on Millennials is that you are always agitating for free shit (e.g., free college, Medicare for All, Universal Basic Income, etc.) without realizing that YOU will be the ones stuck paying for it. Not Billionaires like Jeff Bezos (who I predict won't pay a dime). And not us boomers. But You. Even if it means all the $$ you thought you were going to inherit from us gets confiscated by the Government.
And it will all be paid for one way or another. Even if there is not an actual tax, the Government will dilute the $$ supply to deficit spend into infinity, raising the price of everything. So all that free shit won't really be free. It may also not be worth anything in practice (like "free" health care in Venezuela). A lot of the cluster-fuck ideas you have been hood-winked into supporting (like the New Green Deal and open borders) won't help either. The problem is, you won't wake up and smell the coffee until you're an overweight, bald 45 year old struggling under a crushing tax burden. And then it will be too late.

It’s kind of like the wall - pretty unrealistic and unnecessarily expensive, but it gets the point across. Of course some idiots believe it should actually happen.
