1st, 2nd and third hand smoke from cigarettes, no longer permitted or accepted within feet of a building, yet inside a building called a bar are people polluting their livers with alcoholic beverages and DWI, lol.
Hey, has anyone done a study to see how many suicides are prevented by alcohol?
Or murders??? (Especially murders).

God bless booze!

@charliebrown - Personally, it's not that I'm wedded to the ICE. If something better comes along, I'll take it. But we are not there by a longshot. I have a long standing aversion to battery powered devices. My wife bought a battery-powered weed whacker maybe 10 years ago. I suffered with that thing for 9 years. After the first 5 minutes or so, you could feel it wasn't as powerful. After 20 minutes, it was almost useless. Then another 24 hours to charge. Thankfully, last summer, the battery finally gave out (would not recharge) and I went out (w/o the wife) and got a nice gas-powered weed whacker. I luv the thing; it has all the power I need and then some. And I can refill it in a minute.

Yes, I know a weed whacker is not the same thing as an EV, but I see the same general issues. I want something I can use on demand. And I don't want to have to pound sand while it recharges. If they fix these problems and it becomes more economical, I may bite at some point (if it happens while I'm still able to drive). I do hear they accelerate instantly; that at least is a selling point with me. I've never been one to buy the newest whiz-bang gadget out of the gate, because you are paying a premium to be the guinea pig. I have no problem waiting until they perfect the tech and the price drops.

VJ, my wife has been using a battery operated vibrator for years with no issues, Prius batteries are lasting way longer than originally expected. There is a car service out west that has run strictly tesla for over 7 million miles and they are absolutely overjoyed with the TCO.

I get it buddy. Just do me a favor and take a 3 performance for a test drive. they are actually stealing market share form BMW and Audi. It really is an amazing product. It does have some little quality issues, but that product is going to revolutionize the auto industry like the IPhone did the phone industry.

I said this before, if you already have a car, you should run that thing into the ground for the sake of the environment. If you are rich enough to afford a BMW you would be wise to at least shop a Tesla and compare the handling, acceleration, deceleration and ride. You will be shocked like my wife was 10 years ago!!!!

PS, you are not buying economy cars!!!

"walking, bike riding, electric bike, public transportation and especially rail is the most efficient method of transportation."

Those options don't help much when you're job is 40 miles away from your suburban home.
It is 2019 and we are still driving into an office every day because management cannot figure out how to manage people remotely.

Do you read the entire post?

KD, there are a ton of things everyone can do to reduce their personal energy consumption. I am a realist, I understand there will be those gullible males who think driving an F150 to and from an office every day will make them better men. Since gas taxes are the only current method for generating money for road maintenance, it will continue to increase for those who cherish their ICE vehicles while the electric car drivers are cruising along tax free..

I must say CB, I don't understand your passion on this topic. It's hard enough to get through life without all the "why can't the world be more like THIS..." lamenting, out of curiosity---why is this such a big deal and burning issue for you?

It's been quite a long time since I had a day where I drank heavily. Remember it well---I polished off a bottle of Vodka, went to see a FS amp girl at the now defunct Redhouse in Parsippany and proceeded to throw up all over her. Passed out for 6 hours and had no idea where I was when I woke up. Not my proudest moment, lol

Hum, maybe becasue I am still breathing air and drinking water!!!

It is not a burning issue for me, but the things I say are easy to do and IMO, it would be better for us to start doing it rather than have the government come in and F everything up.

A burning issue for me is when someone starts screaming about womens rights. Wouldn't prostitution be a woman's right?
