How is treating the girl with respect, honor the fact that she working for money as a job.

It doesn't mean that she will not offer you more from a friendship perspective but don't expect a discount. She may offer you one, I have received discounts but only fo certain occasions.

How this gives them the upper hand I don't know?

Yes but if not reciprocal then she is not an ATF/GF. Time to move on, things should get better each visit, and it does not always have to be the spa service, other things make it better too. But nice when everything is getting better.
