You have to pay money to give up your USA citizenship LMFAO money coming and going
If you are a dual citizen and decide to give up US citizenship, I've heard you should tread lightly in the "exit interview". If they think you're doing it just to avoid taxes, you can end up on a black list making it difficult to get a visa to return to the US on your other passport.

Edit: I just remembered where I read this...it was in an issue of International Living magazine.

I recommend learning basic Spanish before you travel to these countries. I took a beginning-level Spanish class and it has helped me with Spanish clients and scoring with sexy hot Latinas. (y)

Spanish is very similar to English so it was fun and easy for me.
Thanks! I'm self-studying Spanish now. I admit it's slow going - I only have limited time each day. My long term goal is to be fluent - it's a good skill to have.

I intend to purchase an offline (no wifi required) language translators, but I get that it's not the same as speaking and understanding the language directly.

Perhaps something like this - exact model TBD:

Amazon.com : Langogo Summit Instant Two-Way Language Translator Device, Real-time Pocket Traductor with Bluetooth, 104 Languages Voice Interpreter, Built-in Data, 4.0 Inch Display with Photo Translation, Black : Office Products

You don't have to give up your Citizenship. Many countries offer retirement visas for people just like you as long as you have money in their countries' bank or retirement income like a pension or social security.

Understood. I was referring to posts higher in the thread discussing renouncing US citizenship, mainly for taxation purposes. Apologies, I should have quoted one of them for better context.

Aah yes, what better board to ask (mongers) for advice on your next major life move/transition that happens to be monger motivated. It's not like we're talking about a vacation, deodorant or mayonnaise here.

Anyone else considering selling their assets after retirement and mongering abroad ? Getting priced out here in the States and it seems this hobby is much less costly overseas, plus there’s talk of a market and real estate correction on the horizon. Seems like the time may be right….
Let me get that hobby discount on your property if it's somewhere i like.

This consideration of what to do the rest of the time, along with things like quality of life, weather, medical care, led me choose Korea. I currently have houses in both Korea and USA and will eventually sell in USA when I retire.
Southeast Asia is the best mongering scene (Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam) for me, but it’s mostly too hot for me there. I’d prefer to be able to take a short flight in and go often. And South Korea is a vast improvement for mongering over the USA. In all these countries, particularly Thailand, there’s little issues that arise with a 60 year old guy, being out and about with a 20 something girl.
as to liquidating assets, it was surprisingly cheap to get a car (I have one I love too much) and a container shipped over. So for me it was more like discarding junk.
I know a couple guys that have moved to Costa Rica and that’s a good choice too. But I really want to travel Asia.
I love mongering in Seoul. I have heard things have changed recently (shut down Miari, etc.). But it's still my favorite place in the world. I'm envious my friend.

Suggest looking at Trev Knight videos Buzzing Payetta. Had good information and suggestions about moving to Thailand. One thing he keeps on saying you need to have more outside interests than just mongering and drinking.
The guys who do just mongering and drinking most end up unhappy and dead in a short time.
Foreigners jumps off condo balconies are common in Thailand.
There is also a Discord group on Thailand
As for me, Southeast Asia is just too dam hot and wet

A guy with the YouTube channel CB Media has opened up another world in Thailand for me, which is the love for JDM cars in Thailand. One thing Vietnam is lacking.
