So occasionally I’m just in the mood for a massage and nothing extra. Instead of the usual $40 tip I’ll give her $20. Am I being cheap or is a 20 good enough?

No you are not being cheap. You are being generous with a tip of 32% on a $60 massage. Most non-mongers/women only tip $10, so when you tip 20 they are happy. Tip more and they expect more from everyone and then get attitudes towards people who tip normal.

Typical cheap Philly customers.
Sadly True.
Most of you guys don’t believe that the owner keeps the house fee and the girl keeps all the tip. The only TM that shares with the girls is iheart massage. The girl gets $10 from the house fee and keeps all the tip.

Yea alot of guys will say "I wish I made $40-50 per hour. But please keep in mind some of the shops girl may only be doing 3 or 4 massages per day. It is a tough business for some. So I say be generous.

That may hold true for many of the FS establishments but many of the massage only places the are splitting the house fee with the girl. Thats why many FS establishments the girls insist on a specific tip amount as that is all they are getting from the session

I should have been more specific in my question. I’m not talking about walking into Sues place or any other FS place like that and just getting a massage and leaving $20. My go to place is Ocean Spa on Broad Street because I’ve always enjoyed their massages and sometimes that’s all I want. I think the girls at Ocean might be aware that they're not going to be making the same as you would elsewhere.

Actually for a therapeutic massage, I think your 20 tip is fine, 40 is for HE.

My comment was directed at some followup posts talking about 5 and 10 tips. Even legit girl are only making a small percentage of the house fee.

Well, show respect to how they want to tip for just therapeutic massages only regardless of your opinion.

It is true that most legit parlors split house fee with providers and providers collect tips. Example: 60 an hour hf. Split 40/20. Provider gets 20 from hf plus tip 10 or more will be 30 or more.

I learned from a legit parlor that more customers are being conservative with their funds lately, which is true because I will post a comment under PA Others Discussion Board tomorrow or Tuesday.

Therefore, it is not our position to say that they are cheap when it comes to tipping because in fact, tipping is not required. Only hf is required.
