I got banned once and I don’t even know why and he wouldn’t tell me.
I contributed dozens of reviews and hundreds of comments that I thought were (hopefully) helpful or interesting to other members. Then one day I was suddenly banned. Not a word of warning. Similar happened to a number of my contacts here.

Totally appreciate the admin's return on resolving the past issues with too much "political" abuse from certain party. I have similar situation as the rest here with just asking questions in the beginning before contributing reviews and bam! the next few hours "banned" without a legit reason. Mind you, the questions were asked cas its first time using this site and this is the kind of SHT mods welcome us for? its gotta be a joke LOL. Thanks again admin.

I think I’ve gotten around to most of the “mean spirited sticky notices” that had been posted and removed them.

If any of you find any more of that nature, send me a link and I’ll take it down
thanks

I’ve posted reviews for both NY & NJ that don’t are later removed for no reason at all. Not everyone here is a Penthouse Letter editior and need to write 3 paragraphs reviews. There appears to be no rhyme or reason for them not being approved.
I’ve had to purchase the monthly subscription just to see reviews because all of mine get banned, so I’ve given up on contributing to the community. Then I see some reviews that don’t mention any details and get posted. None of this makes any sense.

Reviews on some places like NYAW, NYAF in the city were posted too much everyday and it was terrible. But I love these places and still try to go over when I'm in Midtown.

I'm sure it's been requested in the past but I think it would be great if there was a (grading system on the provider in terms of service, looks, etc... on the recommendation like Yelp so we can gauge it out and see if it's worth the trip
Thanks

Same here. As Mandingo1969, I had over 50 reviews. I opened up one day and...oppsss. Banned, No reason, no excuse. Followed all rules and even advised newbies about rules and how to follow. But I'm glad to hear things are gonna be different now. I just left a review on Star. Still pending though.

I have always felt that a moderator’s job is to make sure all posts meet the rules and to moderate any friction between members. Banning should be a final solution not a knee jerk reaction. A PM with a warning and guidance to correct action should be enough for 90% of the issues. Of course if it continues then banning would be expected but that is only after the member has been a) given the benefit of the doubt or lack of knowledge and b) a warning with clear consequences has been given.

I also feel that a Moderator should approve all reviews and if they have an issue to let the poster know the problem and give opportunity to correct it.

I would also disable the quoting when replying function if possible. Quoting is not really needed if they are replying to that person and not to the original post in the thread.

If a person is banned the moderator should send an email to the member explaining why. No need for public post in case that member returns or the ban is only temporary.

Speaking of which there should be different levels of banning based on the offense or quantity, such as 3 and then 6 months and then forever.

Lastly I would add to each forum a “ask the mod” section where members can ask questions specific to guidelines and rules and have them answered. Miss can also put important announcements
Regarding board functions here.

That’s my take and I am so thankful to be back!!!

Not sure if this is right place for this but I’ve always missed the SpaHunters format of each spa having its own page with a list of reviews on it. Makes it easier to find things. That said I’m happy with the site as is, I’m sure an overhaul like that would be a lot of work.
