No. Imo speaking Chinese is more crucial to getting in. If you speak Chinese you will at least get to in the door. Like having great interview skills don't mean anything if your resume can't get you the interview. But if you're Asian then learning Chinese isn't that hard if you already know another Asian Language.

No I study abroad and worked overseas. I don't think its worth the effort to learn Chinese for just mongering. If you enjoy it or use it in other matters, then thats fine. But I think other Asians have a advantage in learn Chinese.

I think u can easily get around it. I can text them in simplified Chinese and they dont know. Then do a videocall if need be and tell em you were born in U. S. and parents didnt speak Chinese at home much. Or adopted lol. As long as you look it you will be fine.

Although of course speaking it makes it much easier.
