We saw Bonnie Raitt before she had a mic; she was strictly bottleneck slide. Came on before the late Larry Hosford played ‘Salinas’. It was hot, we were fried. Little Feat headlined and it was Tripe Face Boogie for the win.

saw her in 1978 outside philly. Watching her play informed me as to why women go crazy watching a guy play lead. She was stunning to watch and from what I recall, she played that guitar all night only for me.

… This isn’t my best but definitely one of my coolest recollections..
… Early 70’s.. had tickets to see Paul McCartney at McCarter theater in Princeton..blizzard came in and McCartney couldn’t make the show.. we got there and were told that 2 “new” Apple signed performers were going to substitute for McCartney and could see the show or get a refund..
… Didn’t want to go back out in the snowstorm and decided to stay and were treated to James Taylor opening for Billy Joel and his original Long Island band…
… Amazing performances by both acts in a great venue..really glad we decided to stick around..

I remember seeing Billy Joel at Somerset County College before Piano Man became a big hit. Early 70s.

Best single concert was the 1985 Amnesty International concert at the Meadowlands.
Other notables were Springsteen (several times), Genesis in the 80s, and Dave Matthews.

I didn't attend, but at The Chance in Poughkeepsie, the Police played a show during a snowstorm. 4 people showed up. This was in the early 80s. Wonder what the after party was like.

Ah, the early 80s, a trip down memory lane. Devo at the old Tower Theater, the Talking Heads at the Mann Music Center, the Police at the Spectrum, David Bromberg at the old Temple Music Festival. And the list goes on . . .

Most memorable:

Santana, Black Sabbath and Van Halen at Nassau in the early 80’s (separately)

Clapton (from a box overlooking the stage) at the Albert Hall in London early 90’s

Rock&roll HOF 25th anniversary show at MSG- Google it - Springsteen, Billy Joel, BB King, Stevie Wonder, CSN, Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Simon and Garfunkel, Sting, Bonnie Raitt and a few others. Playing together and separately for hours. The 2nd night was a whole different lineup.

allmans at MSG just before COVID hit.

Sintax, Wow, you have a wealth of great experiences with the concerts. Santana and Black Sabbath were very good experiences for me. Clapton was superb in his younger days. The Fillmore East in NYC, down by the Village, featured some of the finest at the time. It remains a great memory to me. Take in a concert, then head over to McSorley's Old Ale House to down a few brews.
