When I was walking around in Seoul with the Korean girl, we routinely got daggers from men my age as well as old ladies. Didn't bother me. I was the outsider and if they wanted to stare, so be it. But in Jeju I noticed the cleaning ladies at the hotel would look at us together and smile. Maybe they were just angling for a tip.

I'm 6'1".
Never made a damn bit of difference.

I am of a generation where that just isn't done. You can say you can't score if you don't try. I have lots of other introductions, more than I want. I have no desire to do the dating scene. If I want sex, I see a pro. I don't fart around dating girls hoping they'll get around to sex. And I certainly wouldn't chase young Asians at a grocery store. They're busy and so am I. And it strikes me as a total cliche. I'd rather date a spa girl. I know what I'll get at the end of the night. Most civvie Asians I know are chaste, no nonsense practical women.

Only once was it a direct encounter. I was asked to help carry her groceries home.

Most of the time, it leads to more conversations at the Supermarket when you run into each other, which lead to meetings outside. Just need to break the ice.

1) My sister introduced my to her 34 y/o friend (with a 9 y/o daughter!) for some idiotic reason...when I was 27!!! And she had a 21 y/o secretary in her office at the time!!!
WTF!!! And she knew DAMN WELL how I feel about older women. She sprung this at EASTER DINNER, unknown to me. And to top if off, the old bag's ex husband WAS A COP WHO WAS ABUSIVE TO HER!!! This was completely done for the friend. It wasn't "oh here's a hot 21 y/o secretary for my brother", it was "oh, so an so has such a tough life, and my brother's a nice guy with a good job who could help her...I'll introduce them". Yeah. F that.

2) My Cousin intro'd me to her 32 y/o friend when I was 31. Sort of a hippy chick. Yeah...too old, not pretty enough...no shirt, no shoes,no dice.

And now, at my age, I have NO INTEREST AT ALL in introductions.
It's hookers till death for me.

They do have a restaurant and a bar. But I have never sampled either. Actually, I never stay more than four hours. It's all I can take. I did strike up a few conversations, but nothing came of them. Still, it is an interesting place. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon. Parking can be difficult.

I also tried to hit the HMart after, but it is very crowded on the weekends.

I absolutely, 100% agree with you
But for a few of us that is simply not an option.
A lot goes into that.
The kind of childhood you had.
How you were raised/trained by your father or some other strong male figure.
How the world reacts to you from a from a young age into adulthood.
I am not ashamed to admit that I have never even CONSIDERED approaching a civilian female. Not even once.
And still, oddly enough, I consider myself to be a man.

You should definitely approach non pros. However if you dont ofc you are still a Man.

Im simply stating approaching a Woman is normal. Not talking sleazy or over sexual to her. But a hello and a smile is nothing wrong and it may and you can try for it to lead to more.

King Spa food is very good, particularly the soups and stews.

I wish I could avoid them. Business customers set me up all the time. Nobody likes seeing a happy, cheerful unmarried man. They have to saddle me with someone else’s failed wife. Neighbors too. At best, as I’m 62 now, I get a girl at around 45 offered. Some are ok looking, but I can easily arrange for a 30 year old, more attractive, more energetic pro with no pretense of having to play the dating game, or even talk to her again after unless I want. The cost is a wash. IMO, if you’re a relatively older single busy guy with a decent amount of money, you’re a fool for chasing civvies, when you can rent a pro for just the parts of having a girlfriend that matter. And your likelihood of picking up an Asian girl at the market are so low as to qualify as wasting time. I’m also not wired so I’m willing to trick girls into thinking I’m really interested in them as a gf if I’m not.
