What is your opinion on BANNED MEMBERS

And as for banned members as a whole, it’s absolutely necessary but taking into account that we are the life of this site. As I said a warning or temporary ban for most situations is more than fair, but at the very least with an explanation. And if a warning is given and any member still argues back then also a ban is more than warranted. But again I along with most of us here have never and would never question or argue with anyone in charge of the site

I'm really trying to keep it positive but 100% agree with you. There may well be a need to ban people who are breaking the posted rules, but not for offending the unknowable sensibilities of the MOD. In my case, I got banned with zero warnings and had no idea why. When some friends made inquires on my behalf, they got an explanation that made no sense, including the assertion that I had done NO reviews (which is ludicrous). I know this for a fact as they sent me a screenshot of their discussion with the MOD. It also seemed arbitrary that some people (even some really bad actors) got multiple bannings and re-instatements, but I was not given eligible for the same consideration. So I spent almost 3 years in the wilderness, occasionally lurking to see reviews of spas in my area. I am very grateful to be back and able to interact with the community and heartened to see that the times-are-a-changing for the better.

The moderators could just edit the review and let the reviewer know not to do it again. After that if he does it, maybe a long suspension will help him get the hint. A banning should really be a last resort.
I agree no mention of BFS. We are all human and when we post at times we're thinking of our 2nd head. Lol If someone slips than a strong warning before a 30 day band.

I saw the other post from TJ and I was reluctant to reply because I had a fear that it was a trap and didn't want to get my account get banned again.

When SH disappeared I was at a lost and kind of laid low for awhile. Then in 2018 I found that SH reincarnated as AmpReview and got excited and sign d up. Got my reviews and built my relationship with the other guys.

Then either late last year or early this year, I tried to login with my original account and I couldn't. I thought I was putting my PW wrong and I realized that I got banned just like that, no warning whatsoever, no explanation. Until this day I have no idea why my account got banned.

I signed up with a new account and reached out to the chairman for advice. He said just build my new account because reaching out to the mods might not make a difference. I'm glad I listened to him because reading this thread people got banned again just for inquiring.

Anyhow, TJ, if could please reinstate my old account johndoe1969, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you.

On another note, about the BBFS is kind of a norm on the west coast board. Do they get a pass about mentioning it on their review? Or is the BBFS mention just an east coast rule?

I sure missed a lot this weekend! I'm a bit hesitant to like this post and get banned for it! lol
In all seriousness, I didn't mind the idea of shillers being banned in order to make it easier to find the more informative reviews vs those baiting for traffic; but stuff got out of control

Welcome back everyone and cheers to a new beginning!

This forum is not like Spahunters. It's better i always thought spahunters was overhyped. I was on there and people would try and speak in codes like they really can fool LE . It was comical.

I don't understand this.
I have a lot of reviews...I mean...A LOT!
And I've never once gotten or even expected a kickback.
Would turn it down if offered.
But I've never even been offered.
Not sure how that even comes about.
But then again, maybe I am just naive...
It happens, I know a certain spa owner that constantly pays to put up fake reviews, but it’s usually easy to tell the fake apart from the real.

It’s good to have so many reinstated. Some I wondered why they stopped posting, as I didn’t know they were banned. I’d rather read a review and comment from those I’ve known and followed for years. It seems like some were banned with no mention made to the general public. I know the recent public bannings has the effect of causing those that remained to leave fewer and fewer comments. Looking forward to reading some reviews from you that have been recently reinstated.

A portion of people who were banned from arguing against bad reviews probably deserve to stay banned. Especially when it comes to defending shops and attacking them. It's okay to have bad reviews, but shops don't understand this and have paid their shills to post against it time and time again. Hobbyists look for concrete information if they can so they don't waste money. These people with the fake reviews only care to score brownie points for themselves and need to stay banned.

Like many other guys have expressed, I don't know why I got banned. I'm not gonna take shots at rAMPage, but him and whoever else did what they did with conviction with what they thought was in the best interest of the website. Fine. I didn't agree with how it was handled.

I'm a little relieved to be back on this account since this was the second website I signed up to look for information online. Met a couple of nice dudes along the way and money well spent ever since. Let's just keep honest reviews.

Love this site as much as anyone. But, Spahunters will always be the AMP review GOAT. Without it we would most likely never have gotten to this point. One thing that was better on SH, especially for the guys like you and me that review regularly. You had every review of a particular AMP all in one centralized location for each individual AMP in what ever city or state you lived. Much easier to find all the reviews very fast. Peace.
