This is for all who will be returning to the hobby once the businesses re open ,and those with the funds saved (intentionally or not) from all those weeks of amps being closed.

Will you visit your favorite spot many times (making up for lost appointments)

Or

Visit several spots in succession (if you don't really have a favorite)

Or

Finally Visit that high cost provider that you always meant to see.

Or

Go back to mongering the same as before the closings.

I'm wondering how many of us may never go back, not due to fear of the virus, but because the habit (or addiction, take your pick) has been broken and they found out they could live without their semi-monthly AMP trips.

A buddy of mine who was a regular at some of the same places I went to told me he will await a vaccine before going back.

I think the range of how mongers deal with this will be wide. But who can blame anyone for wanting to hold off?

A report just released found that sunlight and warmer temps kill the virus.

There had always been some speculation that this was the case. At least now there is something that confirms it.

I just saw this report on AOL News. Will try to get a link.

Good point. Most will return. Even if the addiction no longer has a grip, some will go back just out of sheer boredom. After all, what is life without AMPs?

I'm positive for Corona and it's been mostly like a minor cold for me so I'm figuring I'll have resistance and if I catch it again I can with deal these symptoms no problem.
Good for you, you are fortunate. And, according to discussions you will be one of the first cleared to return to work. It would seem like you who have tested positive will be in demand and can negotiate some decent raises.

Got some bitterness going on and taking advantage of it to not go back. The longer this shut down goes on the easier it will be not to go back. Will be selfish and use the saved money to invest in my own future instead of someone elses. I hope it gets back to normal sooner then later for you guys.

I said I probably wouldn’t go back.
Stuck at home with the wife and kids since mid March. Gotten laid twice.
Wife doesn’t seem into sex. Excuses “the kids aren’t sleeping yet, etc.
Maybe she’s not into me anymore.
Whatever it is I don’t care.
Stuck because I have to much to lose.
Oh well.
Didn’t realize how much frustration was left at an AMP.
I’ll definitely be back ASAP!

I'll be back but the how & where details are hard to visualize right now. With so many things shut down (my office, biz travel, most retail stores, etc.), I really have no excuse to be gone more than 2 hours. When things start to open back up, I'll most likely re-engage with my closest civvie and SB first. As far as AMPs, I'll wait and see. I'm sure some on these boards are sick of holding back will re-engage immediately. I'm more than happy to wait for their after action reports before taking that leap.

I hear ya, but I'm of two minds on that. On one hand, you are right. It's nice to save the $$. Before this shitstorm, the Market was doing great and I was feeling rich. So spending $$ on the Hobby seemed no big deal. The pain from the CV-19 Correction changed that somewhat. On the other hand, the experience of seeing my portfolio doing a bungee-jump made my AMP spending seem tame in comparison. There were a few days in Feb/March, where my portfolio lost more in one day that I spent on the Hobby in the better part of a year. When that happened, it occurred to me that at least I got some joy for my $$ out of my Hobby-related activity.

There are many guys that truly wanted to stop before this started. Going to AMP's or any other activity is most certainly like an addictive drug. The last month or so was like being in rehab for gods sake. So now when we are back to whatever the normal is going to be going the first time will spark the cycle again. Luck to all those that want to keep away. The first step is to stay off this board!
