Work verification and references

I don't mind giving out my ID for first time checks, but I've seen some like GFEInvestments ask for work verification.

What do they do with that? Do they actually contact said employer, and what would they say? I wouldn't want a PO or Amp agency to call my employer and reveal too much and I land in hot water... Even getting a call or email is a little suspicious, as though it signals I'm trying to get a new job.

About references, do Bay Area references built up here work at all in other places like LA? Or does it just depend?

Collateral. They do it to protect their own ass, as well.

As someone who has extensive Bay Area refs and migrated to Los Angeles, not all orgs will accommodate those refs and depends from org to org. The larger, more "premier" orgs typically only accept LA refs (directly from reputable orgs and humaniplexx), while smaller ones may accept ones from the Bay. I started off small, and once you accumulate 3-4 LA refs, you'll most likely get into the bigger ones.

I've been asked for LinkedIn profile by an escort before. I remember I just made a fake profile and it worked . I'm pretty sure the escorts or orgs don't call to verify but I've a vindictive escort post a bad customers ID and work info online.

They ask if the company wants a corporate discount on "investment" for some of their advisors.



J/k. I imagine it's similar to p411 verification. P411 calls your work and asks for you discretely.
In p411 case they are a third party, but in korg cases they get to directly see your info. Which is not something Id want them to have for me,bur for others it may not be a big deal.
