Why are the vast majority of massage parlors populated by Asian women?

Why do you never see, for example, a massage parlor full of Nigerian women?
Massage therapy is that much more popular in Asia. Asian massage parlors have proven pretty popular in the US. You see the Latinas because they work in salons where massages are offered as an additional hustle. No one else really wants to be involved with it imo.

Asians have a long history in massage therapy it's a form of traditional medicine. Like accupuncture, accupressure, and herbal medice.Other cultures are known for other things. Ie. Africans are known for hair braiding and weaving, Indians and Bangla have the eye brow threading. All of these things are pretty much indigenous to their culture.

I wouldn't go that far but it definitely has to do with culture. You're thinking too idealistically. You can't use that same reasoning why Asians have nail salons, laundromats, etc.
I would say it has to do something with Asian culture in America. It's something less complicated such as an Asian person did well with a certain business back in the day and then got his friends and family into it. Then they go on with the same type of business and became part of the culture.

Anonsh6s' point is well taken about people doing well in a business and bringing others into the business. However massage therapy is as serious as being a doctor and require correct training and in many places licensing is required as well. Unlicensed masues should be working under the license holder and the license holder is required to be on premisis with the unlicensed. Many providers are only qualified to provide " body work" which any unskilled person can do without a license.
Next time you go into a " massage parlor" look for their license which should be hung in plain view. If you dont see one then you know you're in a " body work" establishment . This is what they get caught on outside of solitstion or promoting prostitution.

In this day and age you'll see more parlors popping up that are unlicensed fronts for prostitution just as Spains' famous Flamenco Houses in the 1950 after Francos War. Women who weren't Gypsies worked Flamenco Houses as a front for prostitution because the wages for domestics were shamefully low and they were too lazy to work hard. Their best bet was to provide services at a much higher rate and live comfortably. Many went to Africa and were able to buy their houses in a few years by charging 5x the rate they would have gotten in Spain.

I don't get it. Say something else.
In other words because massage is a part of asian culture that why you find more asian massage parlors. You wont find a lot of egg roll stand or fast food joints serving egg rolls in Africa because egg roll is not their typical food it was transplanted with the arrival of Asians. Once again you have a valid point that people do what has been successful for others. They watch others and repeat the process. But if it's not known to us because we dont see others do it then how could we do it????

"Egg rolls are a variety of deep-fried appetizers served in American Chinese restaurants. An egg roll is a cylindrical, savory roll with shredded cabbage, chopped pork, and other fillings inside a thickly-wrapped wheat flour skin, which is fried in hot oil.[1] The dish is served warm, and is usually eaten with the fingers, dipped in duck sauce, soy sauce, plum sauce, or hot mustard,[2] often from a cellophane packet.[3] Egg rolls are a ubiquitous feature of American Chinese cuisine and are often served as free additions to American Chinese combination platters throughout the United States,[4][5] along with fried rice and fortune cookies." Place of origin is United States... Wikipedia

My apologies, I was a history major not a culinary major. Lol Hopefully my point is understood.
Thanks for the info but you didn't discuss the difference between the american egg roll and the asian spring roll.

Spot-on, my friend.

Also, 日本で春巻です。

@Baiter - I understand your point, but this is different from the situation where Koreans moved to New York and became green grocers.

The C-Girls and K-Girls over here are mostly too old to be marketable in the vast system of MPs in China and Korea. There are notable exceptions and sometimes we encounter girls here in their 20s in NY. Sometimes youngish girls come here for working vacations.

In a lot of Asian countries, in terms of Our Hobby, every day is Mardi Gras.
