When do you give a gift, and what type?

I'm not talking about house fee or tip.

I'm talking candy, wine, flowers, a new car (for you high rollers). Who do you brings gifts for, when, why? I just find it interesting. I've only had one provider/friend I was close enough to get her a gift out side of our business arrangement. But I know some of you buy things like breakfast or dinner for the whole shop.

What compels you to buy a gift for a lady( or ladies) and what kinds of gifts do you give (if you want to say why you have never/will never give a gift, that's okay too).

I bring pastries to the MMS at PH but that’s because she’s a cool lady and she truly seems to care about her regular customers, but that’s about it. I’ve never connected with a provider to the point where I felt like going out of my way to buy her a gift.. well there’s maybe one that I would lol.

But I think I would be more compelled to give a higher tip than to buy a gift that she probably doesn’t need or want. Unless we’ve actually formed a friendship that goes beyond just the paid act, then I’d just keep tipping. The only exception would MAYBE be if I’m mongering around Christmas or a providers birthday but again, I would probably only do that for one or two providers.

LOL! I get all those bottles of wine you guys happily give away to your ATFs, many of them ribbon and nicely wrapped.
I've been lucky with some boxes of chocolate, some even looking expensive. I give them away to my non provider female friends or relatives, they think of me as "how thoughtful". There's a saying:" no ones really knows who they work for". LOL!

I give wine only to the ladies I know who will consume it. The ladies I know I actually go to dinner with them from time to time and they can drink me under the table. They all send me wechat photos drinking the wine at home.

Me personally, I’ve always avoided the red envelope thing. Younger Asians I know say it’s sort of an older custom which they don’t follow as much except with immediate family if living in the area. I lot of these chicks want to assimilate to American culture and lifestyle which is what brought them here. Instead, go with gift cards. Try Saks to Nordstrom if you have a favorite provider. Can’t go wrong. Has to be minimum 100 for these stores. Even at a hundred, can get something nice. Plus it’s an experience getting out of the whorehouse for chicks like ones at the real whorehouses like ph where they work 10-12 hours a day getting pounded all day.

I gave flowers to a couple girls (3 to be precise) I was friendly with over the years. One girl who I became very good friends with and is now married and retired I would give cash for X-mas and her bday.

$1OO for Xmas to my favorite provider's chocolate wine for Valentines. Nowadays I avoid mongering from December to March because it's too much to give when you have others in your private and outside life.

I go about this keeping things strictly business but there has been one instance where I bought an ATF a gift. This one was special and I thoroughly enjoyed her on many occasions. Her time here was up and got her an assortment of fancy chocolates as farewell and good luck.

On the flip side, there have been a few times a provider gave me a gift. It was small but still very nice of her to do so.

Other than that, yeah, prefer to keep things within the boundaries.

I brought a box of Korean pears one time and they made fun of me :cautious: lol
They did not mean to make fun of you. If they laughed, then their reaction is more of, “Oh how cute and sweet of you.” (y)

I’m sure they appreciate it. In Korean culture, giving a box of fruits is a respectful courtesy. I do the same when I visit my family for the holidays.

Yeah it was exactly that lol. Friendly pandering. Although they found it funny and said it was a gift you typically give to elders.
