dim sum palace on 6 Chatham Square
Is that Dim Sum Go Go?
Great spot!

Lisa + DSGG +/- ice cream factory for dessert is a great way to spend a few hours

What I DON'T get is the fascination with Wo Hop. Food is so American and cheap

If you're visiting any of the women around the Grand/Chrystie area though Wah Fung pork/rice can't be beat

Stay away from Joe's Shanghai, to touristy. Green Jun Bo across the street is excellent for Shanghainese food including Soup Dumplings. Super Taste on Eldridge street for the Mala dishes.
Super Taste is awesome, dingy, but awesome. It's BYOB too. I also like Spicy Village, also BYOB, a few doors down from a notorious spot.

Late to the party here but worth adding for the archives:

Start with an hour of Helen at the Eldridge spot. After that cross the street and pick up a bag or two of frozen dumplings for another day. Then dim sum from Golden Unicorn just a couple blocks away. Their togo set up is fast and awesome and the outdoor space isn't too shabby either. Worth mentioning also that some of the waitresses are pretty cute and the clientele often is too.

Maybe WoHop Next Door at 17 Mott is a bit touristy, but the dingy, downstairs WoHop at 15 Mott is fantastic!!

I read Jing Fong reopened a smaller CT location recently.
Anyone tried it yet?
Heard that too. Gotta check it out. This place opened recently:
https://www.dimsumpalace.com/.
It's a little fancier. I tried it once and so far doesn't seem better enough to stop going to Golden Unicorn.

Was in CT this evening. Buzzing with NYE prep.

You guys talk like being touristy is such a negative thing. There's a good reason why the place is so popular. I've lived in Chinatown for years and still think Joe's Shanghai's dumplings are among the best. Other places put too much sugar in them as if they're a dessert.
