So im a monger who lives in nj and likes to come to nyc to monger cuz it seems like the best girls are out here. Public transit from where i live takes forever so i’d rather not use it.
what are some parking options? Is there free parking somewhere? Would parking a little bit outside of manhattan and taking a short train ride down be a viable option?
any other nj mongers travel to nyc know any tips and tricks?

Not from NJ but I get around by car. I usually just try and find street parking spots; and importantly give myself about 10 minutes to find a spot before an appointment. When all else fails I’ll use a garage but that’s rarely ever been necessary. Being familiar with the neighborhood you’ll be going to is my biggest advice.

Wow, 10 minutes has been enough? I've given myself an hour before and given up and paid for a garage.
Yeah it definitely is not super easy. Especially because a lot of these spots in Manhattan operate in heavy tourist areas around time square. Arriving 10-15 minutes in advance though has always afforded me enough time to find a spot.

Sundays is usually pretty easy. Other days metered parking takes work depending on location. And free parking takes lots and lots and lots of work. Not practical on a scheduled appointment.

Sunday’s - much easier finding street parking. Don’t have to pay the meter

Definitely if you drive in there are definitely certain times and days that will be better. One of the things I do is based on the address I would go on google maps or Apple Maps and look at the street view and look at the parking signs which will give me an idea where to park instead aimlessly driving around. I find driving in on a Saturday is not good and depending on Sunday and time of day is not that great as well. Usually for me it’s weekdays after hours works best.

Most of the amps/spas are in areas that have metered parking spots that end around 7pm Mon-Sat so if your appointment is for 7 or later it's usually pretty easy to find a spot. Anything earlier, and it's a roll of the dice whether you can find something. I would usually aim to arrive 30-40 minutes before my appointment to give myself time to find a spot or get in a nearby garage after circling around.

If you’re trying for street parking in NYC, I recommend using apps such as SpotHero or SpotAngels to see which streets have metered parking or free parking, which streets are off limits (e.g., commercial parking only), etc. Much easier than pulling up street view in Maps to discern parking signs.

Daily parking rate is $32. Round trip NJT to NYPenn is $8.50

So much easier than driving in the city even Sundays
Nah driving on Sundays is easy and just recently ezpass went up to $13.38 or so. It was $11.75 offpeak like 14 mos ago, or less

What i will say op is that it is easy weekends. Weekdays before 7 pm aint easy to find parking in most parts of Manhattan so would need to know what part of the city.

@Zetaomega i suggest you download the parking app parknyc. You can buy the time when u get to the place gains u some free time. Also can add more time if u need to. $0.20 surcharge .

even if you are looking for a garage, use spothero or other garage apps. they usually have lot lower rates than going to the garages directly
