Wondering if anyone ever heard of a zealot trying to play vigilante and taking pictures or recording license plate of guys coming out of a spa. Reason I’m bringing it up is I just left Violets Oriental Spa in Williamstown and there was an older lady in her car parked right at the door as I was walking out. Am I just being paranoid?

Sounds like the start of a defamation case. Maybe you went in to inquire about a service for your wife, girlfriend, or some other important woman in your life. Maybe you're trying to pitch your marketing service. Maybe your back hurts. If you're really that concerned park 3 blocks away and wear a mask and hat. Mask are normal due to Covid and people wear hats all of the time. I doubt you're on a board with enough traction for someone you know to get it back to anyone that has any importance in your life.
If she was blatantly taking pictures of you and your vehicle, just calmly walk up to her and use your phone to snap a photo of her, her vehicle, and her tag. No expectation of privacy in public places cuts both ways. There's no telling what her intentions are, but at least you will have some great intel in the event you need it.
One thing to note: there are dash cams that will record video even when the car is off (they receive power over the ODB-II port).
If somebody really wanted to be a "vigilante" that would be the safest and easiest way to do it. Just leave the car there all day with the dashcam running. So that kind of makes me think
So any "sensible" vigilante would do it that way IMO. Of course, this sort of vigilante would not be a sensible person in the first place. And if she was older then probably she is not exactly tech savvy. Who knows. Anyway... food for thought.
