I do, I have been doing it for a couple years since I have started mongering, haven't had any problems with it.

I would use a different number. Some spas will send out random advertisement texts with steamy language. This happened to me with a NYC place and I was glad it went to my burner!

Just keep in mind that most AMPs have caller ID. So, there will be a record of your name and number on their telephone system. Not a good idea in case anything goes awry there.
It’s worse than that. There’s spas I go to where when someone calls the phone says the name of the caller out loud for everyone to hear. They do that so they don’t miss an important customer. I use a burner myself and the name i programmed for it is Donald Duck, so if you see or hear him calling, that’s me.

Funny you wrote that. I was visiting the owner of a spa one day in her "office". It was particularly busy and I happened to be sitting by the phone. I could see each name and number on the caller ID. It was ridiculous.

all smartphones have a sim card it's small and you can take it out using a small needle/pin that is usually supplied with the phone. I use a safety pin.
go to any phone provider (TMobile, Cricket, Verizon, etc) and see what sim cards they have on offer. You can do a month for about $20 (or less). They give you the # and you refill it regularly. Use cash. That way there is no way to track it back to you, aside from the cameras in the store, but I'm assuming those recordings get cleared every 30 days. I mean - that's not really a big deal. Unless you're involved in something really heinous. In which case you have bigger problems.

Never used a burner or app since the 70s when I started this hobby. Only recent iPhones will display your name … which in my case has led to awkward things like “well my amp name is…but since you know my name now you can call it out as I’m pounding you”

I never call or make appointments, unless with LMTs, for which I use a G-voice number. Still, got a SIM specifically for hobbying a few years back, but it wasn’t really worth the upkeep given my hobby schedule. With that said, if you have a robust hobby habit or SO or job or someone else you don’t want all up in your business, I recommend getting a G-voice number or burner SIM.

this is inaccurate. Delivering caller ID is a network feature, not specific to devices. I’ve lost track of who gives it for free and who makes you pay, but it’s no different to receive on an iPhone versus anything also. iPhone did add some settings to block it outbound recently, though.

Can you please explain these settings that iPhone added recently? The name on the account of my service provider is different from mine so I don’t want it showing up if I call..don’t want them knowing of my hobbying and I didn’t use a burner when I got screened

Lots of providers will tell you to call back with an unblocked number. Just do what others have said. Your number is proof of nothing LE isn't wire tapping because you called and anyways many providers will tell you no explicit talk over communications. Give em your alias ask who working and like to make an appointment thats it. Whatever happens is between 2 consenting adults

It’s in settings. “Show my callerid”. Some providers block that from functioning and force you to dial the code.
I agree with comment about many spas and providers refusing people who don’t provider callerid, hence another reason why a burner is better.
