I used to get some nerves, especially if I was running late, but you get used to it. Just remember, you are the one paying, they are servicing you, take whatever time you need to relax.
Regarding the hotel, most that I've been to are so minimally staffed due to the virus that I don't even see anyone. And wearing a mask helps to feel calm when encountering strangers and hotel cameras.
Above all else, since you are a newbie, if you see some strange signs or feel uneasy, abort. There are scammers, robbers, etc. out there. Check the bathroom and closets before getting undressed. Don't know where you are going, but going to an established agency/provider with lots of reviews will help avoid issues.
