Anyone ever get a text message from a number threatening you for money because you called a number but didn’t book? I know it’s bull crap but still makes ya nervous.

Download a burner app and you’ll never have to worry about this again.
I see a lot of guys reccomend that, but after my cousins experience, I am paranoid.
He downloaded the app,and while he was in the shower,he got a popup on his phone from a different app, which caught his wife's eye.
She picked up the phone and found the burner app.
He got out of it,by saying it was work related.
A retired person cant use that excuse.
Each of us is different.
What fits one person, doesn't necessarily fit us all

Put the app on an old phone then use your regular phone as a hot spot. Just keep that phone in brief case or in my case in my tackle box that's in my trunk

The key is to turn off ALL notifications on the hobby phone. Silent ring tone only. Even turn the buzzer off if possible. It should be an outgoing device only. Incoming calls and messages should be at YOUR convenience, not theirs.

As I said, each persons situation is different.
What works for one doesn't for another
I agree... However, there is one common action possible - log off from that app and clear the cache/memory when you are not mongering!! It's easy to do and takes about 15 seconds. Even if your SO finds the app, there won't be any way to see what has happened with that app!!
