use text free app for a fake number, i choose a number from rode island , free text and phone calls, text are free buy phone calls you got to see some ads, everytime you see ads you get free minutes.

for deskyop/laptop i use protonvpn, its free, use the free version.

Protonvpn is another good one.
Some vpn keep logs of your activity.
Make sure the one you choice does not keep logs.
I know protonvon does not keep logs. Nor do the other 3 I mentioned.

protonmail is also good. i switched from gmail to protonmail some time back, considering protonmail is based out of switzerland.

Just to follow when we got the messages - did you visit a provider from Latin america (colombia?) or reach out to them after which you got the calls? I think some of these providers are bait and switch and pass your number to these thugs / scammers. It is not as easy to do these hit jobs in the US. Most of those images are from South America. If it happened in the US, it would be all over the news.

The scam started when I texted a provider on BedPage and tis is the response I got: I am Rudy González, owner and representative of the appointment house. The reason why I am writing to you is because you have had several reports of our girls in this agency, which have to be paid because my girls are not a game with which you are only going to waste time so you decide How we solve this if we do it for good or for bad Because if you do not pay the lost time of the girls my men will go to your address and they will burst you poise Keep it for sure that if you don’t pay you will die so you decide if you pay or you die

I got scammed by one of these earlier in my career with a similar threat. Lost $500 and a few months of hobbying before finding spa hunters and other community forums like this.

Yeah just like @bread4 mentioned, exactly like that. It got me shooked at first because they found my number through whatsapp but after researching it throughly apparently theres been other news about having the same text messages only and stuff so it could be possibly a scam. But its real scary.

They're pussy. They mentioned my family and I don't play with that shit. This happened off a Latina dating site for me. They texted me then mentioned my family. I lost it told them where I was. To come see me. Called em on the phone they wouldn't pick up. Don't worry, it's just a scam.

Scammer puts up an ad on Bedpage (or any other site) with the sole intent to get you to call or text. Once you have called ot texted your number is now verified and sold on the dark web.

yeah I got a text message once that's right if I don't send some money They sent pictures of some beheaded people on so that that's what's going to happen to me and my family about a year ago just all scare tactic nonsense.

I used to, but now I use a burner number. The texts are to my real number but I looked it up and I have nothing online about me. Even the town it says I live in isn't the right town.
