Spas vs Independents

I prefer indies but I prefer the rigid rules of a spa. You know EXACTLY what is going to happen EVERY time without question. Nobody operates outside the rules. Other than the girl is ugly or smells, you never waste a penny on services expected but not provided.

I know we aren’t allowed to discuss certain things but for me knowing that is always important. It’s a crapshoot outside of AMPs thus the name and thus my love for this board

The housing crisis crimped independents here in the SF bay area, then COVID killed them off.

Developers brought up all the cheap motels and low-rise 60's apartment buildings, raised the prices 400%, and don't care if they have 10% occupancy.

AMPs used to be my last resort. I didn't see the point of seeing a middle aged K/C/J gal with zero English when hot 20-something locals were plentiful, and would stretch out a session if they liked you.

But, in the end, AAMPs won, their high volume all-inclusive pricing model cover the $4k/month work crib overhead, which indies can't.

You dont know if they’re under surveillance, under cover L.E, or simply looking to scam or rob you. Also have to factor in possible drug or alcohol addictions which always complicate things imho.

At an amp I’m just a guy needing a massage,nothing more. There’s nothing to worry about. In the very rare happenstance a bust occurs during the visit keep that in mind and be respectful and you’ll be on your way. 100% understand why gentleman prefer Indy’s and all the different flavors to choose from. If I was single than I’d likely endeavor as well but would like to take my business to Thailand or the Philippines where I could spend a week or so engaging in some seriously fun GFE.

If it weren't for the HCOL in New York and Backpage shutting down, I'd never use an AMP as my experiences with Indy's were that good. The Indy scene is pretty much done here, so AMPs it is. With AMPs closing left and right during COVID, the few remaining know they can bullshit you because there aren't many options available.

Even if you're busted during some indie action - it's a misdemeanor for you and same for the girl. Not sure how that's going to happen and not much reward for the cops. Unless it's a minor and then you're up a f-ing creek. Felonies galore. If you answer an ad that says they're a minor or being underage comes up in the conversation, you're busted before the action probably by a decoy acting like an underage.

Even during AMP busts, they're not looking for clients or even the girls. In Nevada it's called (paraphrasing) Living off of Prostitution (pimping), is a felony, so they're looking for the owners and any minors.

That's what happened at Pandora in Vegas last week, some incel went there and acted all weird, didn't get 'service', said he called cops in his review on RM (which was deleted), then the cops show up. They're open same owner etc... I didn't hear about anyone getting actually charged, they're open but much more careful. So they were probably (IMO) looking for minors or trafficked girls. Besides that I'm sure they couldn't prove anything above and beyond dudes getting a massage.

If you're in an AMP bust, 1st don't say anything about nothing other than lawyer. Or just say you were getting a massage. Unless they have video, the girl isn't going to say anything so just STFU. Indie bust - same thing STFU, except for the word Lawyer. Even if they have proof of you buying sex it's a first offense and a misdemeanor.

Makes sense. And i usually dont really explore any other options other than whats been reviewed here in terms in indies. So that should be pretty safe? My mongering is a few and far between. And like i said ive never seen indies get busted.

I’d probably exclusively visit amps if it weren't for the lack of variety. I need variety. Because of that, I dabble in independent providers. Ive always hated how most indys lack customer service/experince skills. They just expect me to come in, get an instant boner and get straight to action. Vs an AMP were the chick alway dresses in something decent, dim lights, gives little sensual massaging, etc. Then when its go time im already in full force ready for action.

one of the biggest downsides to indys, I'm discovering, is they are flakey. Indy has advantage of me not having to deal with professional screening, which I refuse to do, but that is a disadvantage because sometimes it takes them days or longer to reply to initial and followon texts. Once we are in the same room, I prefer the indy for reasons others listed, the variety. But that flakiness is becoming the norm lately in my experience, and kind of turning me off to them as a whole.

I always had great luck hitting up gals on Friday afternoon. They would bunk off their day jobs and work to fund their weekend fun.

RB & BP allowed casuals to get in the game at a low cost. When they closed, a chunk the potential talent was shut out of the market.

This is a well thought out thread but I'm just throwing my two cents in....I'll take Indy's or SB's all day long. Yes, spas can be more convenience and "possibly cheaper" but if an Indy likes you or you can command a lot of YMMV from your dates based on your appearance, attitude or proficiency in bed....you can't beat Indy's and SB's. I have Indy's and SB's texting me all the time asking when we are going to see each other again. Indy's can provide discounts, extra time and the ones that really like you will always work around your schedule.

In a spa, you always know there is a guy that fucked the girl 15 minutes before you got there and a guy that will do the same after you leave. With SB's or Indy's you might be their only appointment of the day sometimes or at most 1 or 2 others. Most Indy's act like they are much busier than the actually are...especially on Twitter. For example, I have a provider that I just recently saw that offers $700/hr on Tryst right now that I see for $500 for about 2 hours. We have a great connection, she works around my schedule, lets me video tape her and I respectfully determine when the date is over....which is between 90+ to two hours...no rush. She's not thinking about her next appointment, she's totally in the moment and nothing is mechanical. Plus, I'm always a little concerned about being busted in an AMP with my pants down. They come and go all the time...don't get me wrong, I do go to AMP's on short notice but prefer the connection and lower volume from Indy's.

What killed it all was Rising rents drove anybody but tech Bros and Fin Bros out of the coastal cities.

I travel to the West Coast for business…I remember RedBook, The Hobby Hunter (in Pacific Northwest) and several other great regional sites that I can’t remember the name of at the moment . This industry has evolved quite a bit…now Indy’s want $800-1000/hr and guys are paying it…ugggh.
