I had a similar experience/ encounter with LE at the Mt Laurel location for Asian, except the LE were looking for drugs. I copped to nothing. I'm on my phone, looking at Google Maps to make sure I didn't get lost. They left empty; I left scot-free. You did the right thing

Btw, if they persist too much, you can start recording with your phone, inform him you are recording, state the officer's name and ask him flat out if he's aware that stop and frisk is unconstitutional.

Same thing happened to me about 8 months ago at the same place.
Two cars and a couple cops approached the car.
I said I just pulled in to make a phone call.
There was some back and forth like what the OP described. They really wanted me to admit why I was there, but I stuck to my phone call story.
They left and so did I.
Soon after I pulled out of the parking lot the infamous texting MMS texts and says where are you and gives the room again. Then she called. I tell her I just got shook down by cops and I left. She tells me I’m crazy and calls me some names and hangs up…
The silver lining is I haven’t received a text in 8 months.
